Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara Review

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara Review

A new mascara is one of my favourite things to try because I'm very picky about my mascaras and only a few have reached holy grail status over the years. Last October I was lucky enough to be picked for the Marc Jacobs Influenster Box. if you haven't heard of Influenster it's a great way to try new launches from brands you may or may not have heard of and share them on your social media. It's easy to sign up to and grow your social media platforms!

Back to the mascara, I've been using and loving the Rimmel London Colourist Mascara (full review here) as my day time mascara, but sometimes I need an extra lift and volume to my lashes. On the Marc Jacobs website, the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara is described as "..the greatest visual impact and the flash-volume complex creates instant, smudge-free length and volume in three strokes or less... This majorly volumizing mascara delivers instant volume for your most epic lashes yet." And can I confirm this? Yes I can.

The packaging is ultra sleek and sturdy (you could do some damage with this mascara!) and reveals a curved brush with short bristles to coat lashes from root to tip. I personally stay away from chunky brushes as I'm not a fan of a spider lash-look, however the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara perfectly adds volume, colour and definition minus any lumps or clumps.

Another characteristic I look for in a mascara is longevity and smudge-free formulas. I can confirm this is a no-budge mascara that won't leave you with panda eyes by the end of the day. The overall look with this mascara is thicker and volumious lashes that gives the illusion of fake eyelashes without the tricky application.

If you're on the hunt for a new going out or volumious mascara, I'd definitely recommend the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara as it ticks all of the boxes and will look fab in your makeup collection.

You can find out more information on the Marc Jacobs website or purchased it from John Lewis for just £22 - it'll be lasting me a long time, so cost-per-application is very low.

Have you tried this mascara before? What is your favourite mascara?
