My 2017 In Reflection

When I last wrote a blog post back in October, I didn't think it would be until December when I wrote the next one! You can catch up on that blog post here about why I stopped blogging for a while.

I came back from my holiday in Malaysia (more posts to come on that trip!) and it snowballed from there. Work became extremely busy and I was exhausted each time I came home, then suddenly Christmas began and I took advantage of eating too much and socialising at every opportunity. So the 31st December felt like the right date to round off my 2017 with a reflection post and start 2018 off on the right blogging foot.

Is it cliche to say the year ran away from us? At the beginning of 2017 I did write a bucket list which I managed to tick off 2 out of 5 things, so this year I'm not going to do a list and live by the coattails of 2018. But here are a few things that I am proud of in 2017:

- Lots of travelling
We had Edinburgh in May (You can read my Edinburgh Guide: Things To Do, See And Eat), Rome in July where I celebrated my 22nd Birthday! (Catch up with my Rome Guide: Things To Do, See And Eat), a weekend away with my family in Canterbury for the August bank holiday, the amazing trip across Malaysia and finally visiting the Christmas Markets in Winchester last November. I know I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to visit so many places in 12 months - it's been a dream to travel to these places and countries. I've already got a few travel plans in place for 2018, so watch this space!

- Hard work
I started off the year with my Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing exam, which gave me a massive boost in my confidence and the knowledge to take my work to the next level. I'm not going to lie, the past few months have been the hardest ever and really tested me - so I think I've earnt the million of Celebration chocolates I've eaten along with a few glasses of prosecco. 2018 is going to be even harder but I know it will all be worth it.

- Sharing memories with people
I know I wouldn't have enjoyed my 2017 half as much than without the people around me to share those memories with. This Christmas I appreciated my family more, the effort they went to buy presents, prepare the food and make sure everything was perfect for the big day, as well as all of the times throughout 2017 they've made me laugh with joy. I don't have a large friendship group, but those gals and guys are the best solution for turning my frown upside down. They will all definitely be coming with me into 2018...

I'll hopefully be getting back into a regular blogging schedule after this, so if you're not following on Bloglovin or my Twitter and Instagram then make sure you are!

What's been your highlights from 2017?

Thanks for reading!
