Review: Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara

It takes a big impression for me to review a single product on my blog, it seriously has to wow me. My go-to makeup is generally natural and my-skin-but-better style, anything quick and easy that'll save me five more minutes in bed! So what I'm looking for in a mascara is something that'll add colour and definition to my lashes, without clumping or looking to fake spider lash...

I've been using the Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara for a good month now and claims to be the first mascara to tint your lashes over time. The semi-permanent (because your lashes naturally fall out so the colour will fade) lash-tint complex is said to make your lashes look darker from root to tip from 2 weeks of regular use. So how did I get on with it?

Longevity
I have a problem with other mascaras where they flake and I end up with attractive panda eyes by the end of the day. This is one of the few mascaras that I've tried where it doesn't do that or flake at all, and it's been a godsend to find! Throughout the day it'll stay put until I come to remove it at the end of the day with my micellar cleanser and it breaks down really easily.

Brush and Application
I'll normally apply this on my top lashes only as I tend to get mascara everywhere when I apply it on my bottom lashes! The brush is a spiral bristle style and picks up enough product to evenly coat my lashes without any clumps before I go in with another coat. Generally I much prefer bristle brushes to plastic ones as it works through my lashes easier.

The Tint
Most importantly, did it tint my lashes? A little back story, I already tint my lashes every couple of months and generally have fairly dark lashes already. Saying that, I definitely noticed a difference in the roots and tips of my lashes especially! I've been using it 4-5 times in the week and applying a couple of coats, which gives a natural tint over time.

Would I recommend it?
If you're prone to panda eyes or get oily eyelids so makeup transfers throughout the day, you'll love this mascara. If you're buying it purely for the tinting aspect, I think you'd be disappointed as it's not as noticeable as when I use a normal eyelash tint. It's my new holy-grail mascara and I'll definitely be picking it up again!

Have you tried this mascara before? What's your favourite mascara?
