This Month I...

... can't believe how quickly February went! I know it's a short month, but it definitely whizzed by quicker than I expected. Not that it's a bad thing, just means that warmer days are ahead!

This Month I... ate a delicious pizza from Maverick - so much so that just looking at this picture is making my mouth water! You can read my full review about my Maverick pizza experience, but in a nutshell it was the perfect thin and crispy pizza with delicious mozzarella and salami on top. 100% recommend it!

This Month I... bought the prettiest ballerina pumps from Marks & Spencer. I did also pick up a few new things from Primark too (of course!) but these shoes are definitely the highlight. Last year I became addicted to the lace up and tie-up shoe trend and now I've added these to my collection, I can't wait to wear them!

This Month I.... read Capture Your Style by Aimee Song. I literally just finished this book last weekend and then I spent time going back through and making notes! It's a book all about how you can improve your Instagram photos and build your following. A lot of it is about your personal branding, which fits nicely in with blogging! See what other books I got for Christmas.

This Month I.... watched Chalet Girl - being as addicted to Gossip Girl as I am (which I also finished this month!) I'm glad I could satisfy my Chuck Bass craving with Ed Westwick in this film. It's a classic girl meets boy and they fall in love. They really did well with the cast and I love that it's an all British film!

This Month I.... saw Wicked AND Ghost in theatre. For my friend's 22nd birthday, we surprised her with Wicked tickets a few weeks ago - it still gives me goose bumps seeing it after the 3rd time! Then a few days later the production of Ghost was at my local theatre and I had tickets to go see it. If it's coming near you, I'd totally encourage you to see it as it's such a lovely show and stays true to the film!

What's been your highlights this February?

Why You Should Learn To Love Yourself More

Signing off the month of love with a post about loving yourself seemed appropriate. Learning to love yourself is a lesson we could all learn now and again and something that I've been thinking about for a long time now.

I've always preached the saying "don't work to live but live to work" - and it's one I strongly believe in. There's a much bigger focus on mindfulness and finding happiness over success and I agree with that. Working hard to achieve your goals and learning to love yourself do and can work together. I wrote all about finding my mindfulness last month - definitely worth a read!

With social media comparison, it's so easy to beat yourself up about not being good enough, not having an amazing amount of followers or just general FOMO. I'm sure we've all been there on a Saturday night scrolling through Instagram post after post of everyone going out, whilst chilling in our pjammas with a box of chocolates and a Netflix TV show on repeat.

So why should you learn to love yourself more? Simply because you are so unique, there's not another person like you on this Earth. Also because you're pretty awesome and sometimes you really do need to hear that. Learning to love yourself could just be taking a long bath, spending your lunch break in a sunny spot in the park or treating yourself to that new lipstick.

What are your tips for loving yourself more?

OOTD: Khaki Jumpsuit and Stripes

Jumpsuit, Top and Shoes: Primark
Coat: Warehouse
Bag: Accessorize
Watch: Olivia Burton

I'm always looking a ways to rework my current wardrobe, and right now it's all about layering. Adding a roll neck or long sleeved top underneath a jumpsuit or dress can totally rework an outfit and reduce the cost-per-wear! Plus adding stripes to any outfit isn't exactly a bad thing...

When I shot this outfit, I was restricted on time so let my natural hair out. It's normally frizzier and wilder, but it managed to behave in these photos! To take the attention away from my hair, I opted for NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream in Saul Paul, a gorgeous fuscia pink that instantly makes your teeth look whiter and lips fuller.

What's your tips for reworking outfits?

Beauty Things I'm Really Bad At

As much as I like sharing my beauty reviews and tips, there are some things that I am really bad at! We're all human and not perfect 24/7, and that extends to my beauty regime too.

1. Moisturising. I'm a total cleansing addict and will never skip this step, but I can be pretty lazy when it comes to moitsurising. And then my skin is like sandpaper this next morning and breaking out like crazy!

2. Changing my razor heads. I don't know why I don't change my razor heads more often, but they can normally last me longer than most! Keeping them dry after using them helps to pro-long them - just a handy tip.

3. Keeping my nails in good condition. Some weeks my nails are buffed and polished to perfection, and other days they just aren't good. Now I'm taking the time out each week to keep up a good nail care routine!

4. Using hair masks. Another lazy girl fail, hair masks are just too much faff for me. Like do I really have to sit for half an hour with a towel turban on for gorgeously silky hair? Maybe it doesn't sound so bad...

5. Actually finishing products. I'll probably get to 95% finishing a product, then store it for ages until I rediscover it and finally decide to use it up.

Instagram: #TheBlendsRoom, Valentine's Day and Positive Quotes

My definition of a Sunday is a full roast with my family, writing and planning my blog posts for the week and spending endless time watching Gossip Girl. Total #bliss. Whilst I was planning my posts for the week, I realised I hadn't posted an Instagram update post in a while and collected my best moments from the past week to share with you.

A few weeks ago Garnier hosted a pop-up near my work for their Ultimate Blends range called #TheBlendsRoom. You may have seen a few bloggers on Twitter and Instagram with personalised bottles and elaborate braids. I got my hair braided in the most craziest way and picked up my favourite Rice Cream and Oat Milk shampoo!

On my Digital Marketing course I discovered a free website tool called Canva, where you can basically create Instagram photos, infographics and blog designs. I picked this rainy theme and found a cute quote from Winnie The Pooh author, A.A.Milne.

I loved writing my Finding My Fancy Underwear post - and now I have a total addiction for anything pretty and lacy! This set is from the Rosie for Autograph Marks & Spencer collection, which also had gorgeous styles for Valentine's Day too FYI.

Of course we had Valentine's Day this week and I swear it just gets bigger and bigger each year! With that each year it progresses into not just couples celebrating love, but also friends (#Galentines and #Palentines). I loved reading all the Valentine themed posts and seeing everyone's Instagrams, it's just what was needed at this time.

How pretty did Regent Street look last week? Now with the lighter evenings, it's finally feeling less like winter and more spring. Regent Street always has the brilliant lights and if you find the perfect angle it makes a perfect Instagram shot!

How's your week been?

Why I Love Blogging

As you can guess by the post title, I love blogging - it's one of my favourite hobbies and such a big part of my life now that it's hard to imagine not having my blog. I'm sure many other bloggers share my reasons for enjoying blogging, but sometimes it's good to put pen to paper.

Having a blog means I have my own space, something that I can escape to whenever I want to. Not only is it writing a blog that I can disappear to, but also reading so many amazing blogs is my favourite way to while away an hour or two.

Blogging is curating my own creativity and watching it grow. Nowadays the creative possibilities are endless, blog designs, photography and blog post styles are improving with every post. I love having something which I have total creative control over, these are literally my own words and photography! Plus seeing more people reading my blog and following me is just the motivation I need.

So why do you love blogging?

5 Things You Should Say To Yourself Each Morning

Starting your morning the right way can affect the rest of the day - the saying of 'getting out of the bed on the wrong side' really can be true! I keep a postcard quote just above my mirror that says 'Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It' which is the perfect motivation to start my day. So here's 5 things you should say to yourself each morning:

1. Today is a new day

No matter what happened the day before, today is a new day with new opportunities and experiences!

2. I can do it

It's been said that we can be our own harshest critic, so a bit of personal motivation is never unhelpful.

3. Stay positive

A positive mindset is a game changer to start your day the right way.

4. Believe in yourself

Similar to point 2, a little self motivation can never go amiss at the beginning of your day!

5. Don't start tomorrow, start today

For me, a lot of 2017 has been about ticking off those bucket list goals and really making myself happy. And that starts with you taking a jump!

What is your daily motivation?

Review: Maverick Pizza, London Victoria

If there was one meal I could eat every day for the rest of my life, it would be pizza. I'm the kinda gal who loves any kinda of pizza topping, throw on a classic pepperoni or margherita or go all out with a fancy goats cheese vegetarian.

Maverick pizza and cocktail restaurant is along Buckingham Palace Road, just a few minutes away from London Victoria - and one that I've been walking past twice a day for around 2 years. Then the opportunity came when my friend Kamila was visiting from Cardiff and meeting me at the station, so there was only one place to book for dinner!

There's a great selection of pizzas on the menu with a mixture of traditional and modern Italian ingredients. The pizza's ranged from £7 to £9, but for just £10 you can get a pizza and a cocktail! We didn't try the cocktails out (sensibly driving home!) but the menu looked amazing, like a magician's concoctions of potions!

Onto the main attraction, I chose the classic Diavola pizza with spicy salami Milano and my friend chose the Genovese with pesto, cherry tomato and smoked mozzarella. The pizza is a thin but perfectly baked and crispy base, then a tasty tomato sauce with mozzarella on top. All their pizzas are baked in a traditional pizza oven which was just behind us and we could watch them making our pizza!

Overall I'd rate Maverick a 8/10 (Kamila rated it a 6.9/10), their pizza is very authentic and tastes like classic Italian style. The staff were great too, super helpful and I loved the decor, very Instagramable! If you're around the Buckingham Palace or London Victoria area, then pop into Maverick for a taste of Italy.

Have you been to Maverick before? What's your favourite pizza topping?

OOTD: Monochrome spots and leather

Top and Scarf: Primark
Skirt and Bag: Zara
Cardigan: New Look
Coat: Warehouse
Shoes: Clarks

I'm currently writing this post after having a roast dinner with all the trimmings, plus a sticky toffee pudding and can't imagine being able to fit in the outfit anymore! Even though I do love this a-line leather skirt from Zara, it isn't forgiving for lunches at Vapiano pasta.

During the winter my outfits lean towards monochrome and darker shades, this outfit being a prime example of just how much black I can fit into one! I adore this top, mainly because it's got spots and is black, but also because it suits skirts and jeans too. Primark always sucks me in with their smart and stylish tops, as well as their cosy turtleneck jumpers - you can never have too many!

What do you think of this outfit?

My Beauty Re-Purchases feat. Garnier and Korres

My Beauty Re-Purchases feat. Garnier and Korres, label.n. honey & oat shampoo, Korres Water Lily Shower Gel, Origins GinZing Energu-Boosting Moisturiser, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Tea Tree Oil, Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Spray, Beauty, Beauty Re-Purchases

Being a beauty blogger and working in the cosmetics industry, I get to try out a lot of products which means stock piling products for 'on trial'. But there are certain products which I've always re-purchased and will continue to do so - like a beauty safety net! You know that no matter what other products you try, they just won't live up to your favourites.

My Beauty Re-Purchases feat. Garnier and Korres, label.n. honey & oat shampoo, Korres Water Lily Shower Gel, Origins GinZing Energu-Boosting Moisturiser, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Tea Tree Oil, Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Spray, Beauty, Beauty Re-Purchases

It is really surprising that this product is in my beauty re-purchases?! My skin can sometimes look a little dull and dehydrated (I blame working in London and not drinking enough water!) which is why I love the Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser.

It's super lightweight, smells delicious and gently hydrates and energises my skin. It's no wonder why this product is a best seller across the nation and has had so many bloggers raving about it since its release. If I'm trying out a new moisturiser and it doesn't agree with my skin, I know I can always rely on the Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser!

You may be thinking, 'why has Rhiannon included tea tree oil in her beauty re-purchases?!' well my friend, I'll tell you. My skin still battles spots and blemishes more often than I want to and because of that, I need something that will fight it.

Spot gels and treatments don't always work and agree with my skin, they can leave my spots looking worse than before! But tea tree oil is my only proven option for soothing spots and eventually, diminishing them. It's not a quick fix treatment, but it works for me!

My hair is naturally thick and wavy and takes a lot of effort to stay straight with the use of heat appliances! My flyaways are the bane of my life, but without the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray I end up looking like a frizzy mess.

It's always good to use a heat protection spray when blow drying your hair or using heat appliances and I find this one works perfectly for adding shine and a smoother style. I just spritz this all across my hair, then add a hair oil treatment before drying my hair - and it does the job of keeping my hair frizz-free!

Every blogger and their dog must've tried out the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water when it came out a few years ago. Not only am I addicted, but I won't use anything else to remove my makeup! Pre-Micellar Water, I was using makeup remove wipes then double cleansing afterwards but now I've replaced the wipes with the Micellar Water.

I don't really know what the story is behind Micellar Water or how it works, but all I know is that it's a staple for me. I use 4 cotton pads, 2 for my skin and 2 for my eyes and gently sweep the micellar soaked cotton pads across my face until my makeup disappears. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or irritated, plus it takes off all my makeup with no effort whatsoever.

Korres has been killing it recently, and if you haven't tried them yet, I urge you to do so! I featured them in my Brand Highlight post last year, summing up my favourite products and must-try recommendations. They release new collections every few months and in summer 2015, they released my favourite Water Lily Blossom range including Body Milks and Shower Gels.

The scent is very light and flora-ly, as you can imagine lilies are. Plus the scent lingers on your skin for so long afterwards, you'll normally catch me giving my arm a sniff! What I love about Korres is that they're free from a lot of nasties and list all of them on the bottles, as well as if they're suitable for vegetarians, vegans etc. but don't compromise on the quality of the product or packaging.

My hair has never been a problem until a few months ago my hairdresser noticed a difference in my scalp. It's generally quite dry and sometimes gets irritated and itchy, but it's not dandruff or anything like that! So in order to soothe my scalp, my hairdresser recommended the label.m Honey & Oat Shampoo, which also has Sea Algae and Sea Cabbage.

It helps to strengthen without weighing down the hair and leaves it looking super glossy and shiny! But the biggest benefit for me is that it's amazing for soothing and nourishing my scalp and doesn't leave it feeling itchy or irritated. Plus it smells gorgeous on the hair!

And how are you?

If you had asked me this question last week, it would've been a very different answer to today! I had no post planned for today, so I thought I'd just write about my week and everything that's happened. A bit of an informal diary entry!

Like I said, the beginning of the week wasn't the best. Work is tough at the moment and we're all probably at the hardest time of the year, so I just felt a little deflated and un-motivated. I spoke to my manager and we discussed this all and how we could turn that around and make me feel motivated again. I think it's more of an attitude and mentality change than anything, how you react and adapt to things tells you a lot about yourself. With that in mind, I've decided to take the good with the bad and to stop letting it get to me, because you're the only one who can change that.

So I've been blogging for quite a few years now and it's been my pride and joy since, but I still can't get my head around who reads it. My friends tell me they read it all the time, my friends mum's do and my dad and sister have even shared it around their work! When I write posts like this, it's normally for me to get something off my chest and into words, but I want to take this opportunity to say Thank You. Thank you to those who read my blog, leave comments and tell me why they love it - it means so much to me!

Following that, this week has been about appreciating my family and friends. Rather than hiding under a duvet and avoiding everyone, my January and now February and March are planned with so many things with my friends and family. We have a few birthdays coming up in the next few weeks, dinner dates and activities planned, all with the people I love. If you guys are reading (which you probably are!), you're the best!

How was your week?

Finding My Fancy Underwear

I always felt a bit weird sharing my underwear on my blog, but everyone wears it and in the end, these were too pretty not to share! Matching underwear is a novelty to me, basically finding something that doesn't have holes is an accomplishment, let along matching them.

My go-to places for my everyday underwear is H&M. Nothing beats the quality and comfort from their bras and knickers, I love their multipacks for value! They also have a great selection of lace bralets at the moment, which totally pleases the small-boobed person in me.

These particular sets were in the Marks & Spencer sale, another fab shop for buying pretty but practical underwear. I'm a sucker for anything with pretty lace and see-through panels and generally stay away from anything neon and with diamante's (why?!) Thongs are so annoying and I can't stand them, but give me shorts and brazilian brief style and I'm there. Cute bralettes and triangle bras are also a favourite for my small-boobs too!

More than what fits and styles suit me best, it's the confidence fancy matching underwear gives me that I love. If you've got an important meeting, interview or just want to feel better about yourself, knowing that I'm feeling and looking fab in my matching and pretty underwear gives me the boost I need.

Do you prefer matching or mis-match underwear? Where's your go-to shop for underwear sets?
