My Favourite Places In London

I've worked in London for just over 2 years now and have really enjoyed working in the capital! Luckily, I'm about 45 minutes away on the train so travelling isn't too difficult. There's still lots of areas of London I'm yet to explore, but for those who are visiting and staying central, then here's my favourite places...

1. Soho
I live and breathe Soho, literally. My work place is smack bang in the middle of it and I can't get enough of it all. Every Friday a few of my friends and I from work go out for lunch and always end up trying somewhere new as there's so many different places to try. China town is just across the road, so there's a lot of sushi, chinese and thai restaurants or if you want italian there's a ton of places too! My favourites are either Honest Burgers, Vapiano or Yoshio sushi.

2. Embankment and South Bank
I put these two together as they come as one really! On Embankment side, you've got the Tower of London (see my recent post here), the Strand, Big Ben, Westminster and so much more. On Southbank, you have the Shard, the Globe Theater, the London Eye and usually a lot of food stalls and entertainment too. If I had a spare summer evening, I'd definitely spend it walking along here!

3. Covent Garden
If I had a pound for every lunchtime I've spent in Covent Garden, I'd be rich by now! It's only a 10 minute walk from my work in Soho and always has something going on. There's the usual street performers at every corner and usually some elaborate architecture like these balloons last year. During the summer, there's lots of seating outside and a secret church garden behind the market, which I like to eat my lunch in to escape the crowds.

 4. Kensington
The 'posh' side of London in my opinion! I've been here a few times, but I've been meaning to go back again. Hyde Park is just on the edge of Kensington and is a must-see when you're in London - remember to take a picnic! It's been a while since I've been to the Natural History Museum and Science Museum, so they're on my to-visit list too.

5. Camden
My personal favourite food-spot of London, it's the proper food market of London. They're got everything you could imagine coming out of their little huts with enough to feed an army. Besides the food, Camden is a great spot for shopping and homemade souvenirs, try and pick a week day with good weather as the majority is outside!

What's your favourite part of London or where you live?

Thanks for reading!
