This Month I....

May is a bit of a 'meh' month for me, it's not quite summer and holiday time and it just whizzes by, but I do love a bank holiday weekend or two! I've got an exciting trip to Florence next month and generally looking forward to experiencing and doing more things for this summer. Catch up with April here.

This Month I..., Monthly, Catch Up, Porridge, Healthy Porridge, Fruit, Strawberry, Strawberries, Blueberry, Bluberries, Raspberry, Raspberries, Banana, Healthy Breakfast, Healthy Breakfast ideas,

This Month I.... ate pretty healthily and excersied more too! I've taken more interest in healthier food alternatives and trying new flavours this month. Porridge is one of my go-to for breakfast and this time I found a lot of berries in my fridge and added a banana too for extra energy! The perfect healthy breakfast idea.

This Month I.... bought a few fashion purchases. Last month was beauty and this month was definitely a clothing shopping month! I went along to the New Look x Glamour event where we had industry talks about new trends and got 15% off all night, so I picked up these cool Black Canvas Ankle Tie Espadrilles for my holiday. Then Zara was calling again, which is where I got this gorgeous white lace top which I wore out last weekend.

This Month I..., Catch Up, May, Month, Read, Book, Whispering Shadows, Jan-Philip Sandker, World Book Night, World Book Night 2016

This Month I... read something a little different to my usual. After finishing Mansfield Park by Jane Austen (review here) I fancied reading a different genre. Whispering Shadows by Jan-Philipp Sendker is about Paul Leibovitz living in a tiny island off from Hong Kong following the death of his child. Then he meets an American called Elizabeth Owen, who's son has disappeared in China, but of course all is not what it seems.... Overall I really liked this book and it kept me on my toes! If you like the crime genre, definitely give this one a go.

This Month I..., Catch Up, May, Month, Kinky Boots, Kinky Boots in London, Musical, theater, West End, friday

This Month I... watched Kinky Boots in the West End. The handy thing about working in London and right next to the West End is the endless supply of theatres and shows to watch. After work last Friday, I headed to the Adelphi Theatre to watch Kinky Boots the musical, a story about a failing shoe factory and how they turn it around. It reminds me of the 'get-up-in-your-seat-and-dance' feeling you get from Priscilla and is generally just so funny to watch and enjoy!

This Month I..., May, Catch Up, Month, Turtle Bay, Cocktails, Weekend, Best friends, Friend, Happy, Happiness,

This Month I.... experienced a cocktail or two from Turtle Bay and generally felt so happy. Both bank holiday weekends in May I spent at Turtle Bay with a school friend, just celebrating a long weekend and finishing university. May has also been a happy month. Might be weird to say but the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016 were pretty low times for me, but my happiness levels have picked up in May. Roll on June!

How was May for you? What plans do you have for June?

What's In My Shower?

Shower, Beauty, Shower Routine. Korres, Showergel Garnier, Garnier Pure Active, Cleanser, Femfresh, Intimate Wash, Gillette Venus, Razor, Exfoliating Glove, beauty, review

I'm personally fascinated by what beauty products other people use. If I go round to my sister's or friend's house (yes I do have friends...) I would probably have a little peek at what they keep in their bathroom or beauty cabinet. My nosey side is just too curious! Helen from The Lovecats Inc shared what's in her shower and I felt inspired to show you guys too! These products are just what I use on a daily basis, I obviously wash my hair too but the products I'm using are just a bit 'meh' to show you.

Shower, Beauty, Korres, Korres Showergel, Shower Gel, Showergel, Korres Japanese Rose, Korres Japanese Rose Showergel, Beauty Review, Review

First up is one of my favourite brands of all time, Korres. I've previously tried their makeup and skincare collections, but only recently dipped my toes into their shower collection. The Japanese Rose Shower Gel smells so gorgeously sweet and fruity, but not artifical at all and leaves a light scent on your body afterwards. And it reminds me of the blossom season in Tokyo! Read my Beauty Brand Highlight: Korres post.

Shower, Garnier, Cleanser, Face Wash, Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy, Garnier Pure Active, Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Wash, Femfresh, Femfresh Daily Intimate Wash, intimate wash

Then we have my morning cleanser from Garnier. The Pure Active Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Wash isn't my favourite cleanser to use, but the handy pump and refreshing formula makes it perfect for early mornings in the shower. The added grapefruit, pomegranate and vitamin c really do brighten my skin and just make it look more awake in the mornings.

Did you know that your lady parts have a different pH to the rest of your skin? Only after reading numerous blogger reviews about Femfresh did I actually start to believe them. I love the branding and design around the whole range (because you want your shower products to look good too?!) After using their Daily Intimate Wash, I do feel a lot fresher and cleaner too. Boots always have Femfresh on half price at least once a month, so I always pick up one or two then!

Shower, beauty, Shower routine, Gillette, Gillette Venus, Venus Razor, Razor, Exfoliating Gloves, Exfoliating Mitt, Gloves

I keep a razor and exfoliating mitt in the shower too, especially now summer is on it's way and I'll need to get my pasty legs out soon! The razor I use is just a bog standard Gillette Venus one I think, which does the job. Top Tip; razor blades last longer if you dry them each time after using them!

I like to give myself an all over body scrub once or twice a week, either using my shower gel and exfoliating gloves or adding a body scrub if I'm feeling fancy. I do love using these gloves as they're so much easier than brushes and always leave my skin smooth and not irritated! Plus they're so much easier to clean.

What's your must-have shower products?

So you know when we had the hot weekend that went into Monday? This is what I wore to work and now I am back in jeans and boots, armed with an umbrella. But apparently we'll be getting a 'British heatwave' soon, which'll include a few summer showers and warm days I bet! In any case, my trusty stripey top and pink skirt got their first outing since last summer, which I paired with a fairly neutral palette.

For work, I much prefer longer midi skirts because they're still floaty but not too unprofessional, if you get what I mean? I've got similar black and striped (of course) versions of these skirts which I just wear with a different top or shirt and jacket. Ever since the pointy shoe trend came into force last year, everyone has been asking where I got this Primark pair from. Of course they're not available from Primark now, but I've seen a really similar pair from Office that are probably better quality and look so cool too! They're really great for both smart and casual, perhaps teamed with a loose white shirt and blue skinny jeans for weekends.

What's your favourite shoe style? What do you think of this outfit?

Beauty Review: Soap & Glory Speed Plump Overnight Miracle Moisture Mousse

Beauty review, review, Soap & Glory, Night Moisturiser, Soap & Glory Speed Plump, dry skin, Overnight Moisturiser, beauty, blogger, review,

It's been a while since I've done a beauty review of anything, but I've been sticking to a regular skincare routine recently and thought I would share one of my must-haves. First up, I received this at the CEW Awards (a big networking event with different beauty brands and industry specialists) and after catching up with a few of the Soap & Glory girls, they recommended trying the Speed Plump Overnight Miracle Moisture Mousse for my dry skin.

Beauty review, review, Soap & Glory, Night Moisturiser, Soap & Glory Speed Plump, dry skin, Overnight Moisturiser, beauty, blogger, review,

It's the first type of moisturiser-mousse I've tried and I'm actually pleasantly surprised by it. I wouldn't associate a mousse texture with hydrating and nourishing properties, but I was definitely proven wrong! The key ingredients are Actiginsend, Highdrate-24, Fruitylastic and Orange Flowerpower-HA Smoothing Complex, which all smell very fruity and sweet scent but not too overpowering or sickly. My skin had been covered in dry patches, especially across my cheeks and forehead before using this moisturiser.

Beauty review, review, Soap & Glory, Night Moisturiser, Soap & Glory Speed Plump, dry skin, Overnight Moisturiser, beauty, blogger, review,

The air-wipped texture leaves your skin with a light moisture for dehydrated and tired skin (story of my life!) I just take a grape-sized amount out, pop a bit on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin then massage in. I won't usually use a serum underneath this year because my skin does need to breath at night! As for the claims, I wouldn't say it plumped my skin particularly but it definitely works wonders on brightening and smoothing any dry patches, which is all I really need in a night moisturiser.

Overall I am really impressed with this night moisturiser, and would recommend it for dry skin gals like me who need an introduction into night moisturisers. It's now got a firm place in my skincare routine!

Have you tried any Soap & Glory skincare? What's your favourite night moisturiser?

Memories: Photos

Last weekend I spent time going through all my photos, writing dates and people on the back then filing them in photo albums. My photo collection started about 8 years ago, before that my mum has a bunch of albums with the whole family. I had some from school, prom, my 18th birthday right up to Christmas 2015 and they just got me thinking about memories, photos to be specific.

When was the last time you got your photos printed? Probably not recently if you're in the digital generation like me. How many photos do you have on your phone? Most likely into the thousands if you're a selfie and Instagram addict like I am. But there's something special about a live photo that you can touch, keep and cherish. An example of one was a picture of one of our family cats who passed away about 2 years ago now. I took it on my DSLR so the quality was there and because of that you could see all the rivets in his fur and almost touch out and stroke him like it was real. A photo from my summer holiday in Greece last year reminds me of the sounds of crashing waves and feeling of sand between my toes, whereas a Christmas party photo recalls laughter and lots of drinking and celebrating.

What started my spur of filing and dating my photos was looking through my grandparents photo albums a few weeks ago. Of course they're all black and white, but I'm sure to them they brought back a lot of memories. It was fascinating to browse through and see all the different fashion styles, foods and places they would've visited 50 years ago.

It took me a good while to go through all my photos, but I'm up to date to this year. Throughout I was sending my friends and family pictures of us all which may not be on Facebook or on our phones, just little reminders of the good times together. Printing photos can be expensive but I always wait for a deal from Truprint and buy my photo albums from Tiger or on Amazon!

Do you get photos printed? What's your favourite photo memory?

OOTD: Primark Grey Polo Neck and Green Bomber Jacket

Jacket and Polo Neck: Primark
High waisted black jeans and leopard print skaters: ASOS
Bag, earrings and blue stone ring: Accessorize
Heart and flower rings: Pandora

It's probably a cliche to talk about the weather in an outfit post, but where has the sun gone? I wore this at the weekend and it was 12 degrees, whereas the weekend before was 24. So out came the polo neck again, one of my favourite buys of last season, along with my new favourite bomber jacket from Primark of course. It's a soft (and fake) suede which you can't help but stroke all the time. It is on the thin size, but for £15 I can't argue with the price and I'll just have to wear it under coats until it's finally warm enough!

This was just a casual outfit to lunch and the cinema with a friend, we went to see Bad Neighbours 2 and we had a cheeky Nandos AND ice cream, that's like the perfect Saturday right? Currently, I have been loving silver jewellery, specifically small and dainty earrings and rings. These three rings are always my go-to style, as I stack the Pandora two on one hand and wear the blue stone ring by itself on the other. I do really rate the Z collection from Accessorize for affordable but pretty jewellery, or Orelia for earrings too, a fab brand with some really cool designs.

What's your go-to high street jewellery shop? Have you been loving the British summer so far?

Book Review: Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

Before I've struggled with reading Jane Austen's books, mainly because they're pretty heavy to read and I always end up falling asleep after one chapter. But I've set myself the task to read books out of my reading zone and different genres.

Mansfield Park starts with a young girl called Fanny Price, who is adopted into the household of her uncle, Sir Thomas, and cousins at a country estate called Mansfield Park. Soon after, Mary Crawford and her brother Henry arrive at Mansfield from London to stir things up a bit! The whole novel revolves around romances as Fanny's female cousins make a beeline for Henry and Edmund sets his sights on Mary. But both the Crawfords are not the type of people with the best intentions or suitable personalities.

Even though the exciting and shocking moments make not seem as eye-popping to us as it would now (take an innocent hand touching or eye gazing which can take half a page of detailed description as the most exciting parts) but it's an experience in values and etiquette from past times that you can't learn from a history book.

Although I did get angry at Fanny for being feeble and sub-servant to her aunt, her refusal of Henry Crawford's hand in marriage shows a progression in the female position in society. Even if her uncle and relatives aren't understanding and react angrily, Fanny sticks to her guns and marries the person she's most suited to and loves in the entire world. She knows Henry wasn't the man she wanted to marry, even if he was a gentleman and someone her parents approved it, he wasn't who she wanted.

Overall, if you're looking for a Jane Austen book to try other than Pride & Prejudice, give Mansfield Park a go. It may not start off the quickest, but wait for the build up to the drama!

Have you read this book before? What's your opinion of Jane Austen?

Instagram: Cocktails, Reading and a Healthy Breakfast

Hello lovelies! I hope you're having a relaxing Sunday. I thought it was about time for another Instagram catch up, especially as I have been loving Instagram (and Twitter for that matter!) at the moment. It's weird because I go in dips and dives of loving and hating social media, but right now I am obsessed. Make sure you're following on Instagram and Twitter too!

A few weekends ago I went out with a friend to Turtle Bay (a Caribbean bar and restaurant) for 2 for 1 cocktails. I wore my new ASOS jumpsuit, which I'm now so obsessed with! Once the weather starts warming up, I'll definitely be wearing this to work with a denim jacket and sandals.

I finally finished Mansfield Park by Jane Austen! It actually got really good at the end, just takes a while to get into at the beginning. I've got a few more Jane Austen books to try, but keep an eye out for a review on this one soon!

As part of my walk home, I past Fortnum & Mason and their amazing windows. This week they have been promoting the new Alice In Wonderland film - and it's pretty magical! Besides the usual gorgeous displays, they also have animations in the window too. Definitely worth seeing if you love Disney and Alice In Wonderland.

The other day I posted my '24 hours with Rhiannon' a day-in-my-life diary style. It was really fun to create and take photos of - and just makes me realise how long my days actually are! Catch up with my post here

I started the weekend off super healthy with my berry and banana porridge, rather than the usual bacon sandwich! Just adding up to those 5 a day people...

What did you get up to this week? I hope you all had a great one!

24 hours with Rhiannon

Glamour magazine do this great feature every month called '24 hours with...' a celebrity, where they document what they do that day! I thought it would be a fun feature to share, especially as I love being nosy and finding out about what other people do on a day-to-day basis. I hope you enjoy!

5:56 am. Wake up. Yes this is a crazy early time, but I need a good 45 minutes to shower, get dress and organise myself for another day at work.

7:08am. Waiting for my train. I'd be lucky if I get a seat at this time in the morning, and if the train isn't cancelled too!

8:02am. Walking to work. Rather than get the tube from the station, I prefer to put my running shoes on and speed walk to work, especially as I get to past Buckingham Palace and Fortnum & Mason every morning.

8:30am. Breakfast time! I can't eat when I wake up because it's way too early. I normally have muesli and yogurt with fruit on top or porridge with raspberries or blueberries.

12:45pm. Lunchtime. My mornings are always so busy, catching up with emails and sorting through my to-do list that I like to get away from my desk come lunch. I'm in central Soho, so there's a few parks or a 5 minute walk to Trafalgar Square or 10 minutes to Covent Garden.

3pm. Sending parcels! My job role means I send out a lot of samples to bloggers, so I'll usually pop to the post office once a day to drop them off.

5:30pm. Finished work. I've finished for the day, so it's time to walk back to the station again. I'll always listen to music on the way home, it keeps me going!

6:05pm. Train home. I love reading on the train, every week I pick up The Stylist or read a few blogs on my iPad too.

7:05pm. Home. I'm lucky if I manage to get home before 7pm (I walk from work, get the train then drive from the station to my house) but it's always food first when I get in.

8:15pm. Chill out time. I'll have a quick catch up with my family and friends, jump in the shower and get everything ready for work tomorrow. Then it's finally time to relax with a book, Youtube video or reading my favourite blogs before doing it all again tomorrow!

What's your day-to-day routine?

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

NYX lips and brows haul and review

NYX, NYX Review, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, NYX Lip Liner, NYX Brow Pencil, New Beauty, Makeup, Haul, Makeup Haul, Beauty Haul, Makeup Review, Lips, Brows, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream In Istanbul, NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink, NYX Brow Pencil in Auburn, Beauty Blogger

Ever since I heard Boots have finally stocked NYX in the UK, I've been too excited to visit and stock up on a blogger favourite brand. I did do a little research before purchasing, but I knew I didn't need anymore foundation, blushers and eyeliner so steered clear of them! I've already got my eye on a few other products now...

NYX, NYX Review, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, NYX Lip Liner, NYX Brow Pencil, New Beauty, Makeup, Haul, Makeup Haul, Beauty Haul, Makeup Review, Lips, Brows, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream In Istanbul, NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink, NYX Brow Pencil in Auburn, Beauty Blogger

One product I did read a lot of good reviews on are their Soft Matte Lip Creams. Previously I've not been a fan of matte lipsticks because they've either been too drying or not lasted that long but it was love at first swatch with NYX. I picked up Istanbul which is a pretty dusky rose pink shade and gorgeous for wearing during the day or once layered up for an evening out. I wore this a few weeks ago on a night out and it didn't last that long, but I did have a few cocktails so this may be the reason why! The doe foot applicator is super easy to apply and the formula smells like sweets - what's not to love?!

NYX, NYX Review, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, NYX Lip Liner, NYX Brow Pencil, New Beauty, Makeup, Haul, Makeup Haul, Beauty Haul, Makeup Review, Lips, Brows, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream In Istanbul, NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink, NYX Brow Pencil in Auburn, Beauty Blogger
Swatches from top to bottom; NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul, NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink and NYX Brow Pencil in Auburn

Personally, I've never really seen the purpose of lip liners if you're wearing an every day pink or nude but as this was my first go at trying a matte lip I thought a lip liner would be appropriate! I couldn't find an exact match and as I have a few dark and dusky pink lipsticks in my collection already, Nude Pink seemed like the perfect fit. Now this lip liner lasts for ages! It's got some serious waterproof staying power and only when I use a wipe or micellar water and rub it off, does it eventually budge.

Finding an eyebrow pencil which works with my ginger/red hair, is pretty hard. Usually I'll just go with a blonde or light brown shade, but it never looks quite right with my hair colouring. When I first swatched the NYX Brow Pencil in Auburn, it did come up fairly warm and red but it does suit my hair colour - finally! These brow pencils are so quick and easy to use, plus I love the spooley on the other end to brush through my brows and make them slightly less crazy than normal...

Have you picked up anything from NYX yet? What's your favourite NYX product?

How I blog and work full time

I am by no means an expert in blogging and working full time, but I've been doing it for about a year and a half now and before that I was a full time journalism student so blogging and working/studying full time has become the norm to me!

My usual set up is to schedule in all my posts and social media tweets over the weekend, some people prefer not to schedule in everything but this works the best for me. I'll try and join a few chats over the weekend or during the week, if I have time. Other than that I'll try and use my spare time during lunchbreaks to catch up on Twitter and Instagram too. And that's really how I blog in a nutshell! I thought I'd share a few tips and tricks for how I blog and work full time:

Use your time wisely

If I didn't focus on writing my blog posts every weekend, then I would definitely spend more time than necessary on the internet. I use my time on the train every morning to read and comment on blogs or reply to tweets and Instagrams, so I'm not missing out on that interaction and putting my spare time to use!

Stay organised

Like I've already mentioned, I schedule all my posts in advance and to help me I use a printable calendar and write down all my posts for that week. Then I'll tick off once I've taken the photos, written the post and scheduled in all my social media bits. For more detail on how to stay organised, read my Beginner's Blogging Series: Organisation.

Don't stress

Everyone needs time out every once in a while and that's fine. I've taken weeks off before just because I haven't had the time or chance to even think about my blog. But the main thing is that you don't stress about it! Working full time can be a stress, then add the pressure of keeping up with your blog can make it hard work.

Stay motivated

Along the similar lines as the previous point, it's easy to lack motivation and energy when blogging, especially if you've had a long and tiring week at work. Pin point what makes you happy when you blog and why you do it, and focus on that. For me, it's the pure pleasure of reading and writing!

What are your best tips and tricks for blogging and working full time?

Thanks for reading!

Top and Skirt: Zara

Shoes: Primark
Bag: H&M

I do think we all have a kindred spirit with one clothing shop, whether you're an Oasis girl or Topshop fan, there's a shop we know we'll find something to buy in every time we shop. Mine is Zara. Annoyingly there's not one near where I live (I think it's either London or Brighton for me!) but one store opened a few months ago at the end of the road where I work. And well, it's hard to resist.

Regular readers of my OOTD's will have seen this skirt countless of times, proof that a £25.99 leather skirt really does give great cost per wear. This time I've worn it with my peasant blouse I picked up in the Zara sale last summer. which is so comfortable and loose and adds a bit of detail without having to wear a necklace with. Another item I've worn to death are these shoes, sorry you can't really see them much, but here's an Instagram shot. Again, I got them last summer from Primark and love wearing them as a smart sandal alternative for work. Plus they hide my wide feet perfectly...

What's your kindred clothing shop? Let me know your favourites!

Spring Primark Haul

Primark, Haul, Spring Haul, Fashion Haul, Primark Haul, Blue Shirt, Primark Blue Shirt, Blue with White Stripes Shirt, White Top, Slogan Top, Primark Top, Bomber Jacket, Khaki Bomber Jacket, Primark Jacker, White Shirt, White Shirt with Blue Strips,

Working so close to Primark Tottenham Court Road store is definitely a detrimental effect to my bank account - and it's not even as if I went in there for something specific. But when I start picking up one thing, it ends up with an armful and I have to whittle it down to things that I do actually need!

Primark, Haul, Spring Haul, Fashion Haul, Primark Haul, Blue Shirt, Shirt, Laundered Shirt, Linen Shirt, Summer Shirt, Blue Shirt with White Stripes, Primark Shirt

Primark, Haul, Spring Haul, Fashion Haul, Primark Haul, Shirt, Linen Shirt, Laundered Shirt, Blue Striped Shirt, White Shirt, White Shirt with Blue Stripes, Summer Shirt
Primark Blue Striped Laundered Shirt £10 (sorry there's no link!)

First up are of course these two shirts. Their main purpose will be for the warmer summer months and I am going to Florence for a week in June, so these will be handy for then too. I picked up the white version first, then fell in love with the blue style and just thought why not get them both? Plus the different pattern on the pockets is so cool.

They'll be a pain to iron because they're like soft linen fabric, but because they're so light they'll be perfect for hot days with a pair of denim shorts and cute sandals. I got them both in size 10 which is one size up than my usual size, but I wanted them slightly loose anyway.

Primark, Haul, Spring Haul, Fashion Haul, Primark Haul, Top, Dress, Side Split Top, Primark Top, White Top, Slogan Top
Primark Split Long T-Shirt £7.50 (sorry, not link either!)

I'm still slightly unsure of this top/dress hybrid, because at the moment it basically blends into my skin I am that pale haha. It's not the usual shape I would go for, especially the side split, but it's one of those casual tops I can throw on over leggings and wear with a denim shirt or jacket. The little slogan says something like 'I've fallen in love and his name is New York' which fits perfectly as I LOVE New York! I probably will keep it and wear it more in the summer time, gotta have these options.

Primark, Haul, Spring Haul, Fashion Haul, Primark Haul, Bomber Jacket, Khaki Bomber Jacket, Suede Bomber Jacket,

So this was a complete impulse buy, and one that I'll probably wear to death! I've seen tonnes of girls on Instagram wearing cool black and khaki bomber jackets that I really fancied one for myself. Then I spotted this one in Primark and picked up the smallest size they had, a 12, which is fine really because I like jackets slightly bigger anyway.

It might not look that good in the photo, but in person it's so much cooler. So far I've worn it with a grey polo neck and black skinny jeans which is my favourite combination. It is very thin fabric, so you can't quite wear it by itself yet but come summer I'll be wearing it with cute denim shorts and crop tops or a-line skirts and pretty tops. Why isn't it summer now?!

Have you found anything in Primark recently? What's your latest spring/summer buys?

This Month I...

May definitely creeped up on me! But April was a favourite month of mine, I managed to see a few friends, drink a few cocktails and spend my monies on more beauty products and clothes. I hope April was a fab month for you too and that May brings us sunshine and more Bank Holidays!

This Month I.... ate avocado and egg on toast! Sorry if you usually cringe at the sight of another avocado on toast Instagram (I do too) but I think this is my best breakfast yet. It's my favourite meal of the day and besides porridge and muesli during the working week, the weekends I get a little experimental.

I'll have it with wholemeal and seedy bread, lightly toasted, with half an avocado roughly chopped and spread across it. Then two scrambled eggs and a pinch of Lakeland's Good With Everything Herb Sea Salt - which is seriously yum - on top.

This Month I... bought a load of beauty products. One weekend I went a little crazy in Boots and Superdrug, but I did manage to get only what I needed and intended to buy. I did a full haul post here if you fancy catching up. The best buy is definitely the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, proof that investing in the tools as well as makeup is important.

This Month I... read Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. I've read the classic Austen books, like Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility and Mansfield Park is another one to tick off the list. At first it was really hard to get into the plot, mainly because Austen drags it out for so long (why say one sentence when you can say a whole paragraph?!). But it got dramatic this week and I only have a few chapters left to finish!

This Month I... watched Thirteen by BBC Three. I'm not the usual type to binge watch a program in one day and basically hibernate until I've reached the end, but Thirteen totally had me hooked. There's 5 episodes, each around 1 hour long, each getting more complicated and gripping as you continue to watch. I started watching on my iPad on my way home from work at 6pm and didn't finish until around 11pm. A top recommendation from me, but be warned, you'll want to watch it all.

This Month I... experienced the British Library, my first facial and cocktails at Steam & Rye! April has been a pretty good month for me, and I'm surprised how much I managed to fit in. I went to the British Library with my friend to visit the Alice In Wonderland exhibition, which celebrated 150 years since it's first publication. Next up was my first facial experience, that I blogged about here, which my skin was so in need of! Then I ended the month with fun cocktails at Steam & Rye for a friend's birthday. (Yes that is a cocktail in a popcorn box...)

What was your highlight this April? What are your plans for May?

Thanks for reading!
