Beginner's Blogging Series: Social Media, Hootsuite, Bitly, Twitter, Instagram, Tips, Tricks, Bloggers, Blogging, Blogging Beginner,

This week is all about social media. Blogging and social media go hand in hand together, both are online and very social. When I first began blogging, social media was only just starting to gain speed and it soon became one of the most important factors when being a blogger. I'll start off with the best ways to organise your social media, then what are the best platforms and accounts to follow.

Hootsuite - I use the free version of Hootsuite to schedule in all my tweets and instagram posts every week, but there's tons of other free online software you can use. A few bloggers have mentioned using TweetDeck and Buffer to schedule in all their posts, but most work all the same!

I used to live-tweet and post all my social media posts, but now realising that it's not very productive, Hootsuite has come to my rescue! Your tweets will automatically send, without you having to login to your account but Instagram will send you a notification for you to copy and paste the image and text into your app. Still pretty easy and quick!

Bitly - I already mention using Bitly in my Tracking post, as it's a great way to see when your blog post links are getting the highest clicks. It's a free service and all you have to do is create an account to get your tracking links! Only thing is that you can't organise your links e.g. Fashion, Beauty, Reviews - which I think would be helpful!

Just copy and paste the URL into the website then you can track when and where it's being clicked. With both Hootsuite and Bitly, it does take a bit of time to work out when and where you should be sharing your blog posts. For more detail on this subject, please check out my Tracking post.

Twitter and Instagram - Both my most used social media platforms, as a great way to share your posts with other bloggers, brands and followers. Use hashtags like #bbloggers for beauty, #fbloggers for fashion and #lbloggers for lifestyle to get your posts seen and clicked on! Also using hashtags like #ValentinesDay or #Christmas if your posts are themed really helps too. If you've done a review on a brand, then @ their account too. Twitter also has a few accounts which share your posts too, a few I use are: @FemaleBloggerRT @fashbeautylife @UKBloggers1 and #blogginggals

When looking into social media, definitely check out the analytics and see which platform fits best for you and when to post!

What's your best tips for social media and blogging?
