Wind. Rain. Snow. Cold Mornings. Hot Showers. All things that skin hates and are a pain to tackle in the winter months. My skin gets super dry and all red and blotchy - just perfect for New Years Eve! I've rounded up a few of my body and face skincare essentials that I just can't live without at the this time of year, all of which are affordable and can be found on the high street, so enjoy!
I absolutely love this lotion. Once you get over the smell of oats (reminded me of porridge each time!) it's a brilliant lotion, that easily sinks into the skin. Around this time of year I get dry, eczema-type patches along my arms, and this helps to clear them up fast. I wouldn't use it as a daily lotion, just something for when my skin is feeling extra dry and needs some hydration.
As if I could do a skincare post without mentioning Soap and Glory! Probably my second favourite scent after the Sugar Crush range, this body wash gets used every day in my shower and leaves my skin feeling super soft and smelling like oranges. Great for refreshing my skin in the morning, and it really wakes me up at 6am!
And the prize for the longest name goes to! This is a recent discovery for me, after my sister gave me a sample that she received. It's great for using on dry patches, but a little goes a long way and I tend to not use a serum underneath this as I don't want to swamp my skin too much! Basically, it's my new winter skin saviour.
Another Clinique product - you can definitely see the brand I've discovered this year! The only way I can describe how this product works is that it kinda smooths and soothes tired eyes. Whether it actually reduces lines and dark circles is another thing, but it's my must-have eye cream for hydrating my tired peepers in the winter.
This beauty will banish chapped lips and annoying dry patches that my Clinique moisturiser can't get. It's got a multitude of uses from soothing sunburns and abrasions, so it's always on hand throughout the year. A little goes a long way and I always use this to add a bit of gloss to my lips without looking too sticky! It's got quite a strong smell too, but I can't live without it in the winter!
