OOTD: Daisy Peplum and Black Skinny Jeans

Daisy Peplum and Black Skinny Jeans OOTD

Daisy Peplum and Black Skinny Jeans OOTD

Jacket and Top: Primark
Jeans: M&S
Bag: H&M
Shoes: Converse

At the weekends I ditch my beloved shirts and brogues and opt for more comfy styles, of course not leaving behind my black skinny jeans! I can't remember when I last wore my Converse, so I normally dust them off  and throw them on for my days off. I wore this on a recent trip out to Brighton and it actually turned out hotter than expected, so the black jeans were a slight mistake!

It's actually quite a simple outfit, but I think the no-fuss and classic OOTDs are the best. I am trying to take more pictures of my work-style outfits, but it's getting harder with little natural light when I get home, and that's even if I get back before 7:30!

Today has been the usual day at work, sorting out the social media stuff for the new few days, coming up with more online digital marketing ideas and generally getting ready for our new website launch - which is super exciting! I'll be sure to keep you guys up to date, as it's so exciting and we've spent a long time on it!

What do you guys prefer, simple or all-jazz outfits? Let me know!

Instagram: Nails, Soap & Glory and Cupcakes

Another crazy and busy week - I swear they aren't getting any easier! Since starting this new job, I've found it so hard to get the right work-life balance, but I'm hoping that it will slowly start falling into place.

As long as I have time for my beloved Downton Abbey and Great British Bake Off, that's all that matters right?!

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Huckleberry

Even though it's supposedly Autumn now, I've still be obsessed with pastel nails. This is Barry M Gelly in 'Huckleberry' which is a pastel baby blue that I got in a 3 for 2 deal in Boots (always catches me out!) Expect a review to come very soon!

Coffee and Tia Maria Cupcakes

As it was National Cupcake Week a few weeks ago, my sister and I baked coffee and Tia Maria cupcakes, really, it was any excuse to bake cupcakes. They were so delicious! These are the ones my sister did, then the cakes I iced were subtly put in the 'reject' pile. Looks like icing isn't my greatest skill!

Soap & Glory Blusher and Eyebrow Pencil

Surprise surprise, another Boots deal. This time it was 'buy one, get one half price' AND the Boots assistant managed to get me to pay with my points. So weak. I actually only went in for the Brow Pencil and Brush! But these products are bloomin' amazing. I didn't take the picture with the Peach Party blush open because I'll be doing a full review of both in the next week or so (annoying, I know) but let's just say, possibly holy grail?!

Gail's Bakery Sandwich

Gail's Bakery, oh how I've fallen in love with your bread. Just by chance I found the Soho branch, after wandering round on my lunch break last week and now it's my favourite Friday treat. Their bread is all freshly made and sandwiches are to die for! I'd thoroughly recommend it if you're in the area.

OOTD Spotty Shirt and Brogues

I did a long-overdue OOTD post this week, can't remember the last time I did one of these oldies! It's just a classic 'Rhiannon' outfit and I'm still in love with these shoes. Totally underestimated Clarks! My outfits have to be comfortable and practical, but still smart enough to get away with wearing at a meeting. Jeans and shirts all the way now!

How have all your weeks been?

A Day in Brighton and Bill's

Brighton Beach Front
Sunny times on the beach. (look at that perfectly timed seagull!)

A few weeks ago I travelled down to my all-time favourite seaside city of Brighton. I met up with a friend for a catch up and the best Sunday brunch I've had in a long while!

Brighton Station Piano
Only in Brighton would you get a piano in the middle of the station, free for anyone to play!

To say Brighton means a lot to me is an understatement. For people who haven't read my blog in the past year or so, I used to study in Brighton as a journalist, travelling down four or five times a week. My college was at the far end of the North Laines, which is my favourite part because of the bohemian vibe and unique shops and cafes.

Brighton Beach Front

It was the perfect day, not a cloud in the sky and it actually felt like summer again! The train was rammed full of tourists and families travelling down for the day, full of happiness and optimism.

Brighton Bill's

Brighton Bill's

As usual Bill's was super busy, but we managed to squeeze a spot next to all the prams but in the sunshine! I opted for the granola and yogurt with fruit coulis and the best drink of all time, Peach and Mint ice tea, seriously delicious. I've said this before, but nothing beats the original Bill's in Lewes, but across the whole chain, the overall 'Bill' message and aura is still the same.

Brighton North Laines
My college was right at the far end of these lanes!

Coming back to Brighton after only a few months of leaving it, I genuinely became emotional. As I sat on the train, travelling back through the journey I've done over a hundred times, I camw to realise just how much I adore the city.

It's difficult to explain what sort of attachment I have towards it. But I guess the only way of describing it is that because I didn't go to uni and 'discover myself' there, I chose an intense course that would speed me through a couple of years learning into just 10 months, which in turn taught me a lot about myself.

Brighton will always be the city which discovered me, in its non-judgemental and cultural form. It's taught and showed me a hell of a lot about myself and one day I do hope to return to it for good. For now, it's trips like these that make me realise just how appreciative I am for the past year, all the opportunities and vibrancy of Brighton.

Sorry for the ramble-type post, it's been something playing on my mind for a while! Maybe I'll do a 'Brighton Favourites' post and show you what parts I love best.

Have you guys been to Brighton? What's your favourite town, city or place?

Beauty Review: Max Factor CC Cream

Max Factor CC Cream in Fair 40 Review

Max Factor CC Cream in Fair 40 Review

Ever since I got my first BB cream I've been very curious as to the colour correction creams aka CC creams. And as my Benefit Big Easy BB Cream is slightly too dark for my autumn skin (lets face, all year pale-face) it was time for a change!

I chose the lightest colour 40 Fair, which is okay but not an exact match due to the range of shades reduced to only three?! It's a creamy consistency which can look slightly cakey if you don't blend it in properly, but overall it's a quite good foundation with a medium coverage.

Max Factor CC Cream in Fair 40 Review

The natural coverage does colour correct, in my opinion. I have slightly red cheeks and chin, but once I've applied this my skin is all fairly one shade. I love the added SPF, even if it's only 10 it's still good to have a small amount of protection and it covers most skin imperfections, with just a dab of concealer needed for blemishes and under the eyes.

The only downside is that I've found it slightly greasy around my t-zone, especially down my nose. I wouldn't say my skin was particularly oily, it's more combination with few dry patches across my cheeks. But I've found that I tend to powder my t-zone, which I don't do often, throughout the day to stop my skin looking too shiny.

Overall it's a nice product to use, I do like the colour correcting elements and it does last all day, but I'd say this isn't one for oily skin and if you do, then powder away!!

What do you guys think of the Max Factor CC Cream? What's your favourite CC Cream?

OOTD: Spotty Shirt and Brogues

OOTD Spotty Shirt and Brogues

OOTD Spotty Shirt and Brogues

OOTD Spotty Shirt and Brogues

OOTD Spotty Shirt and Brogues

Jacket: Primark
Shirt: New Look
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: Clarks
Necklace: Accessorize
Bag; River Island

Recently, I've become more and more drawn to monochrome or all black outfits. I don't really know why, I'm not in a sombre mood or anything, perhaps it's because I always feel much more dressier with black! Although I don't think you can really call these jeans black anymore, they're more grey than anything.

Classic shirt with my new loves, The Brogues, and a statement necklace and this outfit defines Rhiannon! I've probably rambled on enough about these shoes, but they're seriously good for walking in, however I've already got them scuffed. It's almost like wearing a pair of white trainers for the first time and getting a massive black mark on them straight away!

This week has been Social Media Week, with loads of events happening around London, so I've got my pass to go round and listen to all the lectures, which should be fun! I literally can't wait for the weekend to come, I'm going back down to Brighton and my parents get back from their hols on Saturday, so there's a nice pile of clothes and washing up to greet them. Of course, I'm joking...

What do you guys think of this outfit?

Instagram: Journalist, Brownie and Brogues

Nearly half-way through September and my sister was kind enough to inform me that it's only 94 days until Christmas and 3 more pay days! Plus, when you know Downton Abbey is back, it's time for autumn and winter jumpers.

Diploma in Journalism

Last Monday I finally received my certificate for my diploma in journalism! It's been a long year, but I'm so glad I've managed to get Gold Standard, this time last year I was only just beginning to get my head around shorthand! I am so glad I did the course and truly appreciate the opportunity. Definitely worth the long hours and days when I couldn't feel my fingers because of shorthand practice.

ASOS Discount Shirts

Eeek, ASOS had a 25% discount. I managed to restrain myself. But boy, was it hard!

OOTD Brogues and Navy

A little bit of brogues love this week! I paired them with a navy pair of trousers, loose white knitted jumper and my bargain navy bag from Accessorize. I did a whole post dedicated to these shoes if you wanna check that out.

Healthy Lunch

I made myself a massive lunch today, consisting mostly of veggies! I had roasted vegetable couscous, cucumber, avocado, olives, peppers, lettuce, little bit of cheese and falafel. Needless to say I had no trouble clearing the plate...

Mint Chocolate Brownies

This is mainly why I had the uber healthy lunch above. My sister and I baked mint chocolate chip brownies for this months Brownie Club and coffee and Tia Maria cupcakes because it was National Cupcake Week last week! Both were delicious and are slowly getting smaller and smaller in size due to me eating little chunks. Got to eat all the cakes and sweets before the Monday morning detox of course!

After a pretty refreshing weekend, roll on Monday! What's been your highlight this week?

Beauty Review: T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel

T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel

T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel

I'm sure I'm not the first person to admit that spots are annoying. They get me down on some days, and others I just couldn't care less! But when they are particularly bad, I'm always on the hunt for new spot treatment products.

T-Zone has always been one of those products that's well known for helping spot-prone and acne type skin. This new Spot Zapping Gel has added Tea Tree, Witch Hazel and Salicylic Acid which are known ingredients to help prevent and reduce spots.

I'll usually apply this after cleansing, toning and moisturising, but if I'm having a quiet a 'bad' day then I'll add it on top of my make up too, as it dries quickly and clear. Although its green formula might put a few people off, it's Tea Tree and Witch Hazel scent is refreshing.

Onto the more important part: Do it actually work? Yes, if you keep using it daily for a few days. Of course spots won't disappear over night, but this has been one of the best products, in terms of spot treatments, that I've found in a long time.

Have you guys tried T-Zone before? What's your top spot fighting tip?

The Brogues

Clarks Brown Leather Brogues

Clarks Brown Leather Brogues

Clarks Brown Leather Brogues

To say I've been after the perfect pair of brogues for a while is an understatement. I just can never find The Pair and would much rather spend the money on clothes and beauty products! But then I just stumbled across Clarks of all places and found these beauties.

From what I can remember, I haven't been, let alone purchase anything, in a Clarks store for years. It's always been the place you go to for school shoes, but never really think of it outside of that. Even though it's a higher price tag than what you would spend in New Look or Topshop, the quality more than justifies the expense.

It's leather, which you already know is going to last years, even with a few scuffs here and there. They also do half sizes which is perfect for mildly annoying feet like mine who can't decide if they're a five or six! And it has cushioning in the sole. It's literally like walking on clouds. The heel isn't too high either, great still for running for the train and the last Pret sandwich (not going to deny it!)

But what I like most about them is the classic Brogue style. This particular style is known as a Full Brogue or Wingtips, because of the top cap is a 'W' shape which looks like a bird with its wings stretched out. It has just a few perforations in the leather, which I prefer, because too much might just look a little crazy.

So there you go, my perfect pair of Brogues. I could probably babble on for ages about a pair of shoes, but let's keep my fashion crazy short and sweet!

What do you guys think of Brogues? Love them or hate them?

Instagram: Money Plant, New Brogues and London

I swear the weeks are just getting quicker and quicker this year! Most of my friends are back at uni in the next few weeks, which signals that summer is definitely over. Here's my Instagram catch up for the past week or so, as per, it's been a crazy one!

Last Sunday I visited the homeland that is Brighton. It's crazy to think that just a year ago I was preparing for my first official day as a journalism student and how different everything is now. I loved going back, especially when it was so sunny last weekend. I'll be popping up a post at some point this week with a few of my favourite Brighton spots!

As part of my Brighton trip, I picked up these gorgeous Brogues from Clarks. They're literally so comfortable and you can tell that they're great quality from the leather and finishing details. 100% my new shoe for autumn!

I was walking along the River Thames bank with a friend when we saw these cool Nike encouragement quotes. There's always a ton of runners along the north and south banks, with ten or more of these quotes dotted along the pathways. This one was definitely my favourite and looked very creative!

I also stopped by London Bridge one night, mainly for the Tower of London Poppy display, but this view was too good of a photo opportunity to miss! I love how the lights reflect in the water and how bright the lights were. Definitely my highlight of the week!

I was ridiculously excited to see my money plant had grown a little baby! My family has always had superstitions that having these plants around the house means you're financial future is secure, if that makes sense! I have two on my windowsill, as they're great plants that require minimal fuss.

That's my Instagram week rounded up! Hope you guys had a great week too!

I Heart Instagram Tag

Oooh, I do love a good tag! Especially if it's one that I've yet to hear and read of. The sweet Josie at Josie's Journal tagged me, and as I love tags and Instagram, its a match made in heaven...

What's your Instagram handle?
RhiannonBlog, it matches my Twitter and I couldn't think of anything else more imaginative! It pretty much does what it says on the tin. Plus 'Everything But The Kitchen Sink' is a pretty long name for both Twitter and Instagram!

How many accounts do you follow?
137. Mainly fashion and beauty brands, magazines and bloggers, who I tend to lust over their perfectly positioned photos with an all white background!

How many followers do you have?
71. I don't really look at the numbers too much, even if one person likes it then that's enough for me!

What are your favourite hashtags?
Probably my most used are #OOTD #fbloggers #London #Brighton because I like sharing my daily outfits and any cool images I get when travelling to either city.

What is your favourite genre of photo?
Definitely fashion or OOTD style posts! Even though I totally fail at taking them myself (I can never find the right angle/light) I do enjoy scrolling through and seeing what all the fashion bloggers are wearing.

How often do you post?
Really depends on what I'm doing that day and what I see. If I'm super busy and just flat-out from work, then I probably won't post, but I try to post at least one a day!

How often do you check your Instagram feed?
Wayy too often to be healthy! During the weekdays it might be just five times a day, but at the weekends it's more likely ten times or more...

What's your favourite filter?
I switch between 'Rise' and 'Earlybird' they're both very light and flattering. 'Earlybird' adds a vintage-feel to images, whereas 'Rise' is a white spotlight, great for OOTD.

Smartphone purist or rebel?
Definitely a smartphone purist, I don't know any other way of posting an image?!

Your three favourite Instagram accounts:

@alexsteinherr - she's the Beauty Director at Glamour and has the most beautiful pictures of beauty products to lust over!
@parisinfourmonths - I discovered her Instagram through her blog and she just posts amazing pictures of Paris, croissants and macaroons
@whitneyeveport - famous for The Hills and The City, Whitney has her own clothing range and it. is. just. so. cool.

I tag Jessica Laura Chaitra and Kate!

What do you guys think of Instagram? Love it or hate it? Also, leave your Instagram links below :)

OOTD: Rose Dress and Leopard Print Pumps

Cardigan: Zara
Dress: Internacionale
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Accessorise

Another dress, another day. This one has been waiting patiently in my wardrobe for a few weeks now, and as September kicks in I reached for it last Monday morning. It's a beautiful dusky rose colour in a skater style dress with high neck, that makes it comfortable and suitable for anything! Adding my trusty grandpa cardigan and ever prominent leopard pumps and I'm sorted for the day.

Update on these leopard print slip-ons, I've checked THREE H&Ms across Brighton and London and none of them have them in store! Disappointing. I'm always one of those annoying people asking the staff, then they look blank at me and ask if I've checked the website instead. Talk about customer service! Maybe it's just not meant to be.... seriously, who's kidding themselves?!

Slip-ons, yay or nay? Let me know your thoughts!

Beauty Review: Janina Ultra White Sensitive Toothpaste

Janina Ultra White Sensitive Toothpaste

Toothpaste isn't usually the type of product I'll feature on my blog, but this was just too good an opportunity not to mention!

My teeth and I have one of those love/hate relationships. They're not exactly white, but they're not discoloured either, or so I thought so! I've been using Janina for just over a month twice a day, then flossing and using mouth wash at the end of the day, got to keep those dentists away! Ever since I've started using it I've started to notice a difference in the colour of my teeth and general tooth-health (that must be a thing!)

I did do a quick Google search before I bought it and found out that it's one of the best whitening toothpastes and doesn't damage the tooth at all, which is a bonus for a health-freak like me! It has got a lingering and strong minty taste, which some may love or dislike, for me, the mintier the better! Overall, I'm pretty impressed and from the results I'm seeing now, I can say that I'll be using Janina in the future.

What do you guys think of this toothpaste? Do you love whitening toothpastes?

Review: Urbanears Plattan in Coral

Urbanears Plattan in Coral

I'm not one for buying fancy gadget accessories, the basics will do me just fine, but sometimes spending a little bit more for better quality makes all the difference. I'd heard about Urbanears from a few college friends (one of them being a massive music journo) and they all raved about how good the sound quality was compared to the standard iPhone headphones and compatibility of Beats. I decided to pick up a pair as a late birthday present and haven't looked back since!

Urbanears Plattan in Coral

Urbanears do various types of headphones (six to be precise), ones that cover the whole ear and some in ear styles. I chose the Plattan in Coral, and let me say, choosing the colour was the hardest part! There's so much choice and you can add accessories to personalise your headphones. On to the quality, the fabric on the band and actual ear pieces are super comfy and I like the fact that the wire isn't made of plastic, so I can throw them around and wind up them up as much as I like without having to worry about breaking them. Obviously they are larger than your usual in ear headphones, but I'd say it's only roughly the size of my fist so I can tuck them in my bag easily. The actual sound quality has impressed me. You don't have to have the volume turned up to the maximum to block out noise and as it covers your whole ear you get the full music experience.

In short, I couldn't rave on about these enough! If you're looking for a cheaper and, in my opinion, more stylish version of Beats, then go for Urbanears. You're saving yourself more than £200 and the quality is just as good.

What do you think of these headphones? Are you a fan of the on ear headphones?

Beauty Review: Natural World Argan Oil Hair Treatment Oil

Beauty Review Natural World Argan Oil Hair Treatment Oil

Woaah, two beauty reviews in one week?! This hair oil has been sitting on my to-blog list for ages and I finally got round to doing a post on it. I've done a few reviews on hair oils before and get through them so quickly. Mostly, I'll apply them before drying my hair and sometimes to add a bit of shine to dry hair.

What I particularly liked about this oil is the fact that it doesn't leave a greasy residue behind and actually adds shine. It has a quite refreshing and nutty scent, which I really like but it isn't too  overpowering at the same time! I have seen a noticeable difference in the softness and shiny texture of my hair and I hope that over a while it'll improve even more!

I can really see this vial-size lasting me for a long time, plus a lot goes a long way so I only use a 10p piece size to just run through my hair. At that price, it's fairly reasonable compared to other organic Argan Oil brands I've seen and it does what it says on the bottle - what more could you ask for?!

Overall I'm pretty impressed with this product and can't wait to try out the rest of the range!

What do you guys think of Argan Oil products? Love or Hate hair oils?

OOTD: Spotty Skirt and Slip-ons

Cardigan: H&M
Shirt and Skirt: New Look
Shoes: Primark
Bag: Accessorize

It's not surprising that after my massive wardrobe clearout that I didn't get rid of any shirts. This one has to be at least four years old, but it's still a classic, even if it does crease like hell! Also excuse my weird tucking in, there's never much time in the mornings anymore! I've probably worn this combo so many times, but it's something that's comfortable but still smart, which is the kinda work rules regarding clothes. And I love mixing prints with bold block colours

I've literally been obsessed with my Primark slip-ons and been wearing them non-stop. I've been eyeing up a few pairs from Topshop and H&M (especially this leopard print pair!) but I've heard that they're almost impossible to break into and I hate having blisters! Maybe as a pay-day treat though....

What's your thoughts on slip-ons? Got any favourites?

Beauty Review: Air-Lite

Beauty Review Air-Lite Daily Lift For Legs

Beauty Review Air-Lite Daily Lift For Legs

Beauty Review Air-Lite Daily Lift For Legs

I've always been on good terms with my legs. They do their job of... err.. walking?! But never before did I think that a tub of wonder-working cream would actually make a significant difference to their appearance.

Intro over, this cream can be a little greasy on application but then sinks beautifully into the skin to leave it feeling hydrated and smooth. The stand-out scent definitely deserves a mention too! Described as the 'Capri Crush' lemonade scent, it's refreshing and cooling, in a not at all overwhelming way. I'd liken it to the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush scent (another favourite of mine!) but more lemony!

In terms of results, my skin is noticeably smoother and from using Legology Air-Lite over the summer, any imperfections were faded. I'd mostly apply this in the evenings so it would have more time to sink in and work. But of course, it's pretty pricey! And from reading other reviews, other people have seen more of a difference in their skin texture with constant use, which isn't economical for everyone.

I like using it as a treat a couple of times a week and the refreshing scent always brings me back to summer days! The creator behind Legology Air-Lite, Kate Shapland, really knows her stuff, so if your legs are in need of a pick-up or lift then I'd definitely recommend this!

Have you used this before? What's your favourite body moisturiser?
