Confessions Of A Blogger Tag

After reading Sammy's blog post with the Confessions Of A Blogger tag, I thought I'd give it a go! It's always nice to see 'behind' the blogger and get to know them a bit more, especially as we all have different blogging experiences.

Confessions of a blogger tag

When did you start your blog?

I started it way back in April 2012, but didn't start taking it seriously until July that year! Before I'd just post random pictures without any text or ramble on about something and completely tail off on another subject.

Have you had any past online presence before (e.g. other blogs, Youtube)?

Before Everything But The Kitchen Sink I didn't have any other blogs. I used to write in my diary every day and make up stories. Most of them would be adventure stories that I could be really creative with! Obviously I had Twitter and Facebook and subscribed to various Youtube accounts and signed up to Instagram last year, so I guess my online presence is still quite small!

Why did you start your blog?

This is a question I get asked a lot about! It's always been a writing outlet for me, and as a journalist/digital guru I can't stop writing. I had been reading blogs for quite a few years before that and I liked the community involved and satisfication of pressing 'published'. Plus what girl wouldn't want to talk about fashion and beauty 24/7 on their blog?!

When did you start becoming serious about your blog?

After reading blogs for years before, I got my spark and thought 'I can actually do this, and well' When people started reading my blog, I became dedicated to it as I didn't want to let anyone down! I started to enjoy taking photos and writing about my day-to-day musings and it soon became like an online diary for me and way to communicate with people.

What was your first post?

My first blog-starter post was called Chocolate Brownie vs Rabbit Food, where I did a little article on diets but my first official fashion post was when I got my River Island wedge trainers (remember that trend?!) called I Think I'm In Love The photography is rubbish, but at the time I was so proud of myself!

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?

Time. If you've been a follower for a while, you'll know this year has been crazy. I've found it harder and harder to blog with my college course and various jobs filling up my time, but I'll always come back to it. There's a quote that goes along of the lines of, 'if you can't find the time, make it', which is what I stick to when I blog. I'll always make the time!

Where do you see your blog in one year?

To be really frank, I don't even know what I'll be doing this time next year. It all depends on what's happening in my life at the time, but hypothetically I'll still be blogging and writing my usual content, perhaps with a better design and know a bit more about the logistics of having a blog!

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?

I guess I might speak for a lot of bloggers when I say the feedback and response from the blogging community is the most rewarding part of blogging. It's amazing and so rewarding to hear that people actually like your post and have nice comments to say about you.

What is the most discouraging thing that has happened to you?

*Touch Wood* nothing as of yet! I think it would have to be something with quite a strong impact to actually stop me from blogging. Any nasty comments I deal with as 'sticks and stones' because not everyone is going to be a fan of your blog, and that's their opinion and they're entitled to it.

What is your lasting motivation or inspiration?

Other bloggers! There's nothing more inspiring than seeing bloggers with a real passion for what they're writing about, it's almost infectious. Reading about someone's outfit or what they've done that day and wanting to share yours is a great inspiration. Sometimes I lack motivation, but I'll either have a quick scroll through Pinterest or read a few of my favourite blogs to get me feeling motivated again!

And those are my Confessions Of A Blogger! I hope you enjoyed this post - it's something a bit different and you get know a bit more behind my blogging story. Let me know if you'll be doing the tag or have already done it and leave your link below.

Thanks for reading!
