Review: Benefit Big Easy BB Cream

Benefit Big Easy BB Cream Review in Light 02

Benefit Big Easy BB Cream Review in Light 02
Light 02 swatch not blended on my pasty arm!

By now, it seems that every blogger and their dog has tried out this BB Cream, so I thought I'd throw my own review into the mix! Benefit is an amazing brand which I've come back to many times, especially for their BADgal Lash and High Beam highlighter. Their prices are more than most high street brands and less than all the high end types, but I'd say that you're getting just as good quality as the more expensive products.

BB creams are my go-to for foundation, as they provide a light coverage with added SPF whilst still concealing any blemishes or imperfections. My dry-combination skin was slightly weary of trying this out due to its Liquid to Powder finish, but I usually prefer a matte base over a dewy finish anyway. In short, it does what it says on the tin (box?!) "Multi-balancing" "help balance moisture and control oil" "lightweight and velvety finish" - it does it all. As you can see from the above swatch I use Light 02, which is slightly too dark in the winter but perfect for now and the summer, but their six shades are quite versatile for any skin tones.

My lady at the counter did a few swatches for me and this one came out best, but she did warn me to apply a good bit of moisturiser beforehand so that it doesn't stick to any dry patches. And that's probably it's only downfall. I never apply too much anyway, but I did find that if I don't moisturise well then it attaches to all my dry areas. So I make sure I apply my Korres or Origins moisturiser well! The other possible negative is the smell. Because it's got SPF 35 it has got a suncream smell to it, which doesn't bother me at all, but I can see some people not liking it. Either way, if it's protecting my skin from sun rays then I'm happy!

I know this product will last me a long time, and unless another amazing BB cream makes it's way into my make-up, then I can definitely see myself purchasing this again!

  2. I do like the SPF in it! I find the same thing with my dry patches - such a pain and sometimes I can't be bothered with it! x
