Review: How to Fall in Love by Cecelia Ahern

I mentioned that I started reading this book in last Sunday's post and I finished it in five days, which means it must be good. Other bloggers and friends had said a lot of good things about Cecelia Ahern and her books, but I didn't think she was that good!

The short blurb of it is a woman, Christine Rose, finds Adam Basil about to take his life when she promises him that she'll get him to fall in love with life again before his birthday in two weeks. She promises him to get his girlfriend back, sort out his job and the rest of this life. I'm sure you can guess what happens, as they're practically inseparable for two weeks (partly because she's worried that he'll kill himself again so keeps a close eye).

From the off you just want to find out what happens to him at the end, does he kill himself or get his girlfriend back and sort out his life? It's definitely one for the chick lit section, hopelessly romantic. It's one of those books when you're so frustrated that they're not together and you're just waiting for the moment and when the book ends you just want it to carry on! It teaches you as well to appreciate the little things in life, along with creating this almost sickly, but pleasing love story line.

I'd definitely recommend it to any chick lit lover, probably not a book for everyone, but I loved it and would probably read it again. Next on the book list is P.S I Love You, also be Cecelia Ahern so I have high hopes for it (plus I haven't seen the film so don't actually know what happens....)

Have you read this book before? What did you think?

Thanks for reading!

  1. I loved it so much!
P.S. I love you is fantastic and I read it really quickly, it's much better than the films too! Another one of hers you also want to read is A Place Called Here - very original, not a love story and completely fascinating!
