International Women's Day

If there's ever the chance to celebrate women and their accomplishments in history, then I'm there waving my flag as hard as the rest. Today is International Women's Day and I thought I'd share women who have inspired me.

I'm sure you all know Naomi Campbell, first female black supermodel. She's one of my inspirations as she's proven that no matter what you're skin colour, ethnicity or gender is, you shouldn't be discriminated because of those things and let them stop you from getting where you want to be.

Emily Davison is probably most famous for stepping out in front of King George V's horse at the Epsom Derby on 4th June 1913 in protest as a women Suffragette. I wrote a whole 2000 plus essay on the Suffragettes and it still amazes myself today of the lengths the women went to just to get the vote. Just proves that if you're brave and keep persisting then you'll get the results you want.

Caitlin Moran has always been someone who I've enjoyed reading about (loved this video especially!) because there's not enough women standing up for us in all areas. Plus her column in The Times is bloody good!

And last but by no means least, my mother. Although she doesn't read my blog (thank god!) she's always been a massive inspiration and role model, alongside my sister. They've both taken me for who am I and helped me become the person I am today and for that I'm so very grateful.

Who are your female inspirations?
