Skinny Jeans

Jacket: Primark
Top: Internacionale
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: Converse
Scarf: New Look

Howdy! A slightly boring outfit, but I do love the simplicity of rolled up jeans and a baseball style top. College is turning into a right chore to find something to wear. I love dresses and skirts but most of the time it isn't practical so I know my jeans are going to be worn a lot more than usual! It's crazy that I have three pairs of black skinny jeans (one pair which is at least three years old still fits!!) and only one blue pair, after the famous rip on the arse incident. Must invest into a good pair of skinny jeans!

Last night turned out better than I expected. A cute date dinner with my bestie including a general rant about college and uni then meeting up with all the guys who haven't gone off to uni over a couple of cocktails. Definitley feels good to break out of my usual circle of people who I go out with! And I'll admit.... I'm actually looking forward to going back to college tomorrow, seeing everyone again and doing subjects that I'm interested in, doesn't seem to be that much of a chore than it did before! That being said I'll probably be moaning by next Thursday about how difficult it all is! At the moment my week is consisting of college until Thursday, staying over at my brothers Tuesday night and a possible pub quiz with the group from college on Wednesday, now that doesn't sound that bad...

Hope you all have a great week and I'll be seeing you Thursday!

That Shirt

Jacket: Primark
Shirt and Shoes: New Look
Jeans: Topshop
Necklace: Accessorize

Hey guys! Another outfit from last week and that shirt again! A shirt that could have a million creases but would never actually show, who wouldn't want a shirt like that?! There was a reason behind wearing this smart-ish outfit though, as last Tuesday me and the mother popped off to London in the evening to meet author Cathy Kelly for a reading and a Q&A. But I'll add more details in the post below :) I've been waiting for the day for when I have to drag out my Zara monster coat but the sunny weather doesn't seem to want to go! Is it strange that I'm asking for snow and cold weather again?!

Today I've just been to work, mooched about doing some homework and sorting everything out in my room as it's gotten crazy messy over these past few weeks after starting college etc. I'm meeting up with Kamila who's just popped home from uni for a bit (missing me too much obviously....) and I think we're going into town for dinner and a few drinks which'll be good!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!
Thanks for reading!

Cathy Kelly Event

So if you've read the above post you'll have a rough idea what I did last week. My mum managed to get tickets to an event Woman&Home held where we got to meet author Cathy Kelly. I have read a few of her books but they aren't really targeted at my age group so it wasn't a surprise to see a lot of older women there.

We were instructed to go to the Blue Fin building nearby to London Bridge, which is headquarters for IPC media who publish magazines such as Look, Now and more specialist magazines too. After being greeted by friendly staff from the magazine with a glass of champagne or elderflower cordial for me (not a massive champagne drinker anyway!) I walked out onto a gorgeous balcony with cute picnic benches and fairy lights everywhere, but the view was probably the best part. Here's my dodgy iPhone picture, doesn't really do it justice!

After that we were called into a room with rows of comfy chairs and. much to my delight, goody bags (do people still call them that?!) but more of that later! Another journalist/author asked a few questions about the book, as it wasn't actually published yet and then Cathy read a bit from the book and finally we could ask questions ourselves. I did keep putting my hand up but other people beat me to it and asked long winded questions that took a while to answer. Cathy then did a book signing which was when I asked her my question (she used to be a journalist herself so I wanted to know more about that!) instead she gave me her personal email address to ask her a few questions! Obviously I emailed her on the train home, not wanting to forget my questions.  Perhaps my favourite quote she said was "Life is full of grey areas" because it's true really, no one actually knows what they're doing in life until they find it!

Now onto the goody bag:

Pen which ERASES! Paperchase diary, Cathy Kelly Book, Thortons chocolates, Lindtt chocolate bar and Woman&Home Mag.

Remember those pens? I remember people at school having them but never actually owning one myself, who knew how much fun you could have rubbing pen out... A really pretty and professional Paperchase diary which I love already. A Cathy Kelly book which I am yet to read. God that's a lot of chocolate.... they know how to get to my heart then! A fitness magazine which will hopefully kick start my healthy eating and exercise regime again!

Cetuem Nail polish, Body butter from Nurture, Halo hand wipes, Vintage cosmetics tweezer and bath and massage oil from Arnicare.

Being a women's magaizine they had to include a few beauty bits! I tried the nail polish out the other day and it's come out a hot pink/pink grapefruit colour. I did google the brand and found that they usual retail at £9.95! High hopes for them now. A really creamy and rich body butter that I'm looking forward to using. Handy hand wipes, they must have know I'm a clean freak. Cute tweezers that, shock horror, actually work! The bath and massage oil was one that I was looking forward to using coz my back still aches from my car accident last year and probably won't be the same again, so I'll hoping this will sort it out a bit!

And finally the signed book she gave me!

Obviously a massive thanks to Cathy and Woman&Home for organising the wonderful event. The whole goody bag came to at least double the ticket value or more!
Overall I had a brilliant evening and would love to do more events like this, with the included goody bag of course....

Thanks for reading!

Coatagain!

Coatagain: Asos
Cardigan: Zar
Top: Republic
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: Paris Souvenir

Hey guys! God has this week been a mad one, long days at college, skype calls with my friends at uni and a ton of homework, hasn't left me much time, not even for Bake Off! What do you think of my new coatagain?! I got it last week as a treat for surviving two weeks of college (any excuse...) It's thinner than a coat but arguably just as warm and it's quite long meaning I can wear long cardigans with it, as I always had a problem of wearing short jackets with long cardigans! Either way I'm pretty happy that I got it :)

A quick catch up of the week:
1. I got my article posted at Made In Brighton, link here
2. I am finally getting used to this college lark
3. I attended a Woman&Home event last Tuesday evening where I got to meet author Cathy Kelly (post coming soon)
4. I also got my Labour conference article with another guy on my course, posted on the college website this week, link here
5. I kinda feel like the young inexperienced journalist in my group, (being the youngest anyway) but I'm gonna take it as a positive and learn from them, to make myself a all round better journalist, if that makes sense!
6. I went shopping, surprise surprise.....

You lucky things are going to be treated to two posts today! I did do a little bit of shopping and thought I'd chuck it into a haul post, which should, hopefully, be below this post!

Hope you're all enjoying your week!

Rhiannon xxx

Not another haul.....

Yup, I went shopping.... Not a massive amount but still enough to fill a post, enjoy!

Woooo, Polos, how exciting. Recently I've been going through these packets very very quickly! Due to another mint addict at college and my worry of nasty breath, coz no one really wants that. Look magazine, I'll admit, I only bought this because it was 99p, such a sucker for the deals. Digital Photographer Magazine, not because I actually want to be a photographer (I think these photos on here prove that I have zilch talent when it comes to taking photos!) but it's for my Business of Magazine classes. I do have an interest in cameras, especially after filming my music video, and as I only need the basics behind the magazine it might as well be something that I have an interest in! Although they do not come cheap, £5 for this magazine?! Nearly broke my heart....

Both £10 from Primark
Yup I've jumped on the fluffy jumper bandwagon. And I am not sorry. I feel like a cuddly bear when I wear this! If you are going to get one of these jumpers from Primark, get the size down. I'm usually a 8/10 but this is a 6!!! And it's still baggy. Oh the sizing drama. A pretty throw to chuck on my bed to stop my cats making my bed fluffy. It's absolutely massive, covers the whole of my double bed pretty nicely and who doesn't like flowers?!

Both from Superdrug (2 for £4 deal)
I may have a slight addiction to tea tree products at the moment, but they've made such a massive difference to my skin. I've got a toner from Lush, nose strips from Boots, a spot stick thing from Superdrug and finally the actual oil, which I dab straight onto spots as I find that's the best soothing product for me. Basically I cannot fault tea tree products at the moment. I got the Exfoliating Cream Wash, that I used successfully this morning and a small bottle of the pure essence.

Simple Moisturiser - Wilko (£2)
Maxfactor All Day 3 in 1 Foundation - Superdrug (£8.99, sale)

You've all probably got sick and tired of me praising Wilko for their cheap products, but seriously, £2 for a moisturiser that would've cost me £4 or so in Boots, I know which one I'd go for! The foundation was definitely an impulse buy. I did try out a sample one and found that it stayed put for the whole day, but the shade was too dark for me anyway. Of course, I was the palest shade there! It'll probably get more used in the winter, but then again I do exactly tan in the summer...

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Harry Potter Studios

After a recent visit to the Harry Potter Studios in London, I just had to write something about it. Some people aren’t fans and some are, even so, the sets, costumes and process of actual creating a film like Harry Potter is pretty mind blowing.
The Burrow

You start off with a quick pep talk by one of the guides about what to do and what not to do, then you’re taken into a room where you’re shown a short film with the cast talking about their experiences, to which then the screen magically disappears to reveal the doors to the Great Hall! You’re shown around the hall where there are various costumes from the different houses and the costumes from the teachers at the front. After that you’re set free to go around the studio at your own pace. Obviously I could list all the things I saw but that would be a massive post! Different sets, props and costumes were on show, with little info descriptions about each one. You see the make-up and wigs that they use, walls covered in drawings of each set with everything written down and perfected to the last millimetre. You then go outside to see the Knight Bus, the Ford Anglia, Privet Drive, The Potters old house, the Bridge used at Hogwarts and some massive chess pieces! The final part is the model of the castle, which is actually used for all the panning shots. There were videos showing how long it took for the team to complete, something like 8 or more weeks! But the attention to detail was all there.
Diagon Alley (My favourite bit!)

After that a trip to the gift shop was needed. Trying on the costumes, riding a broomstick, swirling a wand etc was all fun. The prices were not though. £18 for a mug?!! £125 for five wands?! No thanks! Despite that I had to get something, especially as Kamila wanted something too. £15 for two key rings doesn’t sound as bad in comparison to what else was there!
Outside the Dursleys

They say it takes about 3 hours to get around the whole thing, but I think that’s with an audio guide coz we took about an 1 hour and a half, and that’s with stopping at every single thing and taking a gazillion photos! Overall, I’d recommend doing it to anyone and everyone, even if you’re not a Potter fan, the costumes, sets and at detailing that all goes into it is astonishing, which I think we might all gloss over when watching films sometimes and forget about how much work and time goes into it all.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

The Boots are back!

Jumper, Dress and Boots: New Look
Bag: Zara
Necklace: M&Co

Practically wearing the New Look shop here! Hasn't it been buggering cold this week?! This jumper is super cosy and the skinny sleeves doesn't leave me with a saggy bingo wing! I do love wearing boots again, means I don't have to worry about painting my toenails for a bit now! This is what I wore last Tuesday as it's my really long day at college, 9-5:30 and I was basically in the same room for the whole day, pretty draining, plus it gave me a massive headache :(

Today I've pretty much slobbed about, doing my shorthand homework, sorting out a few articles and then chatting to Kamila all the way in Cardiff as it's her first day/night there, bless her. Missing her like crazy though, strange to think that she's no longer a 15 minute drive away from me now :( I think I'll watch a bit of Xfactor, which I'll probably fall asleep to anyway!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Jumper

Jacket and Jumper: Primark
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Present

Oooohh another jumper outfit! Winter has arrived, although it was sunny but still cold today that I didn't really need the jacket in the end. Unfortunately I didn't win anything at bingo last night, I was one number away from a full house at one point!! It was surprisingly fun, not full of old ladies like I thought it would be. It was free to sign up and go in and I got my own dabber too, the little perks in life! All I've done this morning is catching up with my work, which still isn't finished! I also caught up with my bestie Kamila and said goodbye to her as she's off to uni tomorrow, can't express how much I'm going to miss her!! But she's back for her birthday at the end of October so it's not all bad, from now until then I'll just make sure I'm super busy with all my college work!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Blurry

Blazer: Primark
Top: Topshop
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: New Look

Perhaps the post title reflects my blurry Saturday night and these photos! Another thing to add to the to do list: new camera! I kinda forgot to take any photos of my outfit from Monday, although it wasn't that exciting anyway. I still can't believe that I managed to find this blazer in the Primark sale, but they're now added more colours. Saturday was my last time to say goodbye to a few of my friends leaving for uni this week :( So it was a bit emotional and there was a lot of tears. But I can talk to them on facebook and see all their pictures of freshers week (not that I'm jealous or anything....) so they're all obviously having a good time.

God that was a blabber and a half. Another busy week at college, I have tried to fit in blogging time but by the time I get home, eat, shower and do my shorthand homework, which I get everyday :(, there is literally no time to do anything. But I am not moaning about it! I do love all the lessons, even if they are pretty difficult, I just can't wait for what will happen in the future and where it will take me. Today I sent off my article for Made in Brighton magazine but I don't know when it'll be published but they did like it and they also want me to do a few more reviews of restaurants, shops etc in Brighton, which is something that I love doing and fits in with my schedule at the moment. So yup, all exciting things!

Tonight I'm off to bingo with my sister coz I'm staying over at hers again, so I'm sure you'll hear my first impressions of that! Then tomorrow I'm going to lunch with my bestie Kamila for a farewell lunch, even though I'm trying not to think about it too much I am really going to miss her :(

Hope you're having a lovely week!

Happy

Image from Pinterest

Scrolling through Pinterest is probably my new favourite thing to do. It's strange how something like a simple quote, like above, can actually make you happier. After reflecting on this past week I'm pretty happy just the way myself and everything else is. Although new experiences are so scary, my first day proved that one to me! I've managed to go through the whole week without banging my head against a wall, waiting for the next holiday time I can have off school. Telling me that I'm perhaps braver than I thought I was :)

Today I drove my sister and myself up to the London Harry Potter Studios and had a right geek off with all things harry p. I'll probably do a separate post of that sometime in the week coz I've got a ton of photos to sort through! Besides that I've just been spending quality time with my sister and her boyfriend then went home to clear up the mess I left from getting in late from last night. All in prep for another week which I'm really looking forward to!

Hope you all have an amazing week too!

R.I.P Jeans

Jacket and Bag: Zara
Jumper: Primark
Jeans: Next
Scarf: New Look

Oh god, this was the day when my trousers ripped on the arse and I didn't realise until I got home. God knows how many people saw my butt that day! I was pretty sad, they were really nice jeans/jeggings, comfy and soft with no awkward buttons or zips, R.I.P jeans :( I am so glad I got the Zara Office Bag in the end, it's been a lifesaver with all my books and notepads and everything! Plus as it's of good quality, I know it won't break that easily.

Today I've been to work then mooched around this afternoon. My brother came over for a few games of Mario Kart which he lost, of course. My parents are back from holiday tomorrow which means I've had to tidy the house up a bit and do the washing up, it's crazy how much one person gets through! I think I'm off out tonight to see a few people before they go off to uni but I'm not too sure what time. Annoying, I'm one of those people who has to know what time and where exactly! Me and my sister are off to Harry Potter World in London tomorrow, which I am so excited about, as is she, you really wouldn't think we were adults! Hopefully I'll be able to get a post up plus a ton of pictures tomorrow or in the week sometime.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Plain Jane

Jacket: Zara
Jumper: New Look
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: Nike

Another plain Jane outfit! From Mondays stress and seeing that no one was really dressed up that much, Tuesday has become my dress down day. Double Public Affairs, uh, which I felt totally lost in! The whole three hours (!) was getting to know each other and then testing us on the British Constitution. Now, I do read the news and have a basic knowledge in politics, but this was a step too far. Since then I've read up on the things we learnt, which I get now, but I know I'll have to keep reading ahead to stay on track! After that I had a portfolio lesson, which we're talking about magazines and how to write features etc, so I already know that this is going to be one of my favourite lessons! Then shorthand, which isn't too bad at the moment, but I know I won't be saying that by Christmas! What was annoying was that we finished at 5:30 and my train wasn't until 6 so I didn't get home until late :(

Toady I've just been catching up on homework and preparing for future articles, which is exciting. I also contacted Made in Brighton a new online magazine about writing for them. Amazingly they replied a couple of hours after I contacted them saying they'd like to have me aboard! Yay! It's not paid, but it's all about getting published. I've got to submit a weekly article (300-500 words) with 4-5 supporting pictures, this week I think I'll do something on The Lanes and the shops there! But I really need help with what I should write about! Anyone got any ideas? It can be about events in Brighton or anything really!

Thanks for reading!

The Future

Jacket: Primark
Shirt and Shoes: New Look
Jeans: M&S
Bag: Zara

Howdy! I've been slightly absent from here for a few days, mostly because I've finished college so late each day. Most of the time I've gotten back at six or later, so I've been pretty pooped each evening! This was my outfit for my first day, hence the reason why my bag is so stuffed, man it was heavy! I wanted something comfortable and casual but still smart, so I think this works. Although I found out that these suede-type shoes are NOT good in the rain! Instead of rambling on about each day and what happened I'll just round it up:

1. It wasn't as scary as I thought
2. It's a lot more pressure and intense than sixth form and A-Levels
3. The hours are long I didn't leave until 5:30 the other day and actually got home at 7:30 :(
4. It's a lot more independent than school, so you have to actually motivate yourself to do the work
5. I can actually make friends whilst being myself, probably my biggest worry for the first week!

Basically, a pretty long and tiring week but I'm actually excited for next week and what we'll be learning and doing.

I only go in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but obviously they're quite late days so for now I think I'll just be posting the other four days, hopefully I'll be able to get back into a daily routine though!

Hope you all have been having a good week!

Worry

Image from Pinterest

Another lazy post from me.... I saw this quote on a friend's instagram and searched around Pinterest to add it to my growing quote board! It's actually quite relevant to what's going to happen to me tomorrow. I'm sure you're probably got sick of me talking about me starting college tomorrow but it's a massive thing happening at the moment and considering I literally know no one, besides the two main tutors, and that I've only been there three times, I'm pretty nervous.

It doesn't help that my parents have decided to hop off to Greece for a week too! But my lovely sister is giving me a lift to the train station as it's a nightmare to park there. Then it's actually getting the train which is another worry, gotta get the right one at the right time! Then when I get there its the walk to the confusing part of the Lanes in Brighton to find the college, which I do have a map for and super quick legs to get me there and in the right room before 9. Finally, I'm worried about what they're going to be expecting me to do, obvs I won't be a top journalist straight away! I just hope there's at least someone else there on the same level as me.

Phew, so glad I got all my worries off my chest! Sorry if this is a bit of a boring post but I really needed to write it down so it doesn't seem that scary!

What's In My College Bag?

So I recently did a What's In My Bag, but thought as people start to go back to school/college/uni a What's in My College Bag would be appropriate! I'm using the Zara Office Bag as I've got tons of stuff and it's pretty good for carrying heavy books etc.

Yup, books galore!! Got my portfolio, although I won't be taking this in everyday, it's just in case they need to see it for this intership I've applied for but hopefully I'll have time to upload everything on to an online copy which I'll be able to carry around on my USB. Notebooks and pens, a must for anyone! My cute diary, I wanted something sleek and professional, plus it's really soft. My college books that came today (thank god) shorthand, law and public affairs textbooks which, I am not kidding, are a similar weight to a baby elephant. I reckon my muscles are going to be huge by the end of the year!

And all the other bits of crap I drag around with me! Keys, purse, lip balms, tissues, mints, phone, hand sanitiser, iPod, food, water and camera. God, I am not a light packer! This is the limited amount I always have with me too :( But I have seen other bloggers with practically their whole house in their bag so I guess this isn't so bad!

Hope you enjoyed reading this post and that it wasn't too boring for you, I'm absolutely shattered!

Hearts

Jumper and Vest: H&M
Skirt: Primark
Shoes: Converse
Bag: Accessorize

Howdy all! This is actually what I wore the other day to the cinema, it was bloomin' boiling, way too hot for the jumper and jeans I was wearing. It was a bit eventful at the cinema, first off we got there late but the staff said the adverts were still on but it was okay to go in. Then when we got in the adverts hadn't even started, apparently there was a technical fault with the film, finally they came in and said that the film won't be showing and that they'd give us another ticket where we can see any film we like at anytime! Either way it was a bit of a waste of time.

Today I've just been working all day, pretty boring. I love it when it rains at work, in comparison to yesterday I was pretty thankful for the rain, so British! Since then I've just been sorting stuff out for college next week whilst watching Life of Pi. The ending is so so sad, one of those films where even though it's sad it teaches you a story.

Hope you've had a lovely week!

I Like Food.

Cardigan: Topshop
Dress: New Look
Shoes: Converse
Necklace: Accessorize

Howdy all! What a bloomin' hot day it was today! Def didn't need the cardigan in the end. Me and the mother poodled off to Horsham to do some shopping and decide where we would want to live there. First off, I had to drive us there, on the motorway. EEKKK! It was only for about 20 mins so wasn't too bad, although my mum says I get angry and argumentative when I drive, but it's just coz I'm nervous! Haha plus she does criticise my driving too much! Either way it was a really lovely day out, great weather, shops and the food, oh my, I didn't prepare myself for all the cute little bakeries and restaurants that were there. Pretty sure that's why we want to live there! We stopped off at a little patisserie and had these fruity tart things and iced teas, making us feel all summery still.

I needed to get an academic diary and another small notebook for college next week. By the point of finishing we picked up stuff for lunch: sushi, salad bits and my favourite, tzatziki, so yummy! The drive home was a lot better and less eventful. Then I went to see a friend and help her out with a couple job applications and sort her CV out, like the good friend I am! Haha And now I'm catching up on the old Internet with a face mask on my face, coz that's what an eighteen year old gal does on her wild Thursday nights! Tomorrow it's just a boring day at work, but I'm thinking of having a play around with my blog layout and start writing up a few post ideas I've got, exciting!

Hope you're all having a lovely week!
