London Baby!

Fans from Friends will know what I mean by the post title! Yesterday I popped along to London to do a bit of shopping before I start my college course in about a weeks time. We didn't do a ton of full on shopping that we'd probably normally do but still picked up a few good bits!
Skirt: Primark £10

How cute is this?! I've seen the heart print shirts but they look quite similar to my spotty shirt, so this is a good alternative, otherwise my wardrobe will be full of printed shirts! I can definitely wear this in the summer, with a vest and then tights and boots in the winter, plus who can really argue with the price?!

Skirt: Primark £8

I've succumbed to the maxi skirt trend. Yes I know it's the end of August, but without this skirt I would've been boiling, after a sneaky change in a McDonalds toilet I was freed from my jeans yesterday! It's a nice strechy jesery material, which keeps quite cool too and doesn't make me look like a sausage roll.

Bag: Primark, £1.50

Yup, that's a backward R, I couldn't be bothered to work out how to change it! This was actually a practical purchase, something to hold all my books etc that won't be able to fit into my Zara office bag when I go to college! Although not waterproof, it's pretty stylish in my opinion.

Socks: Primark, £3

Socks! Most of mine were ruined at Reading or work with mud stains that won't come out or massive holes. Something I can't wait to wear in the winter months!

Toner: Lush, £3-something!

This wasn't really an intentional buy, but I had heard a lot about this product, so I thought I'd give it a try! Tea Tree does work on my skin really well, I actually use the oil and apply it straight onto spots to help them calm down a bit. So I'm hoping that this will calm down the redness on my skin too!

Earrings: Topshop (Label Orelia) £8

The photos really don't do this justice! They are just gorgeous, so dainty and pretty. I think my earring collection is getting a bit old and just yuck, so I'm thinking of updating them throughout the rest of the year with this pair as my starting point. Orelia is a stand which I always go to when I'm at Topshop on Oxford Street but I always think that they're so delicate that I'd probably lose them or break them at some point! But these were too pretty to leave behind really....

Hope you're all having a great weekend! Thanks for reading!

Birdy

Jacket: Primark
Top, Scarf, Shoes and Bag: New Look
Jeans: Topshop

Slightly wearing the New Look store today..... I'm wearing my lovely new scarf from my friend Kamila as a late birthday present. She knows me too well as I love birds, especially swallows, and scarfs! Today I went up to London with another friend to do a spot of shopping on Oxford Street and just a general mooch around. We only did a little bit of shopping then got lunch (Masses of sushi, my favourite!) walked down Carnaby Street, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, through China Town to Convent Garden then sat on south bank opposite the London Eye, yup, a lot of walking!!

This outfit is a little bit of a lie, in the end I left my jacket in the car and then changed my trousers into a skirt I bought and took my scarf off, it was so hot! So I wasn't really prepared for the unexpected sunshine! However, London is by far one of my favourite places to visit, the people, places and atmosphere is just something that you wouldn't get anywhere else. When I start college in Brighton soon I;m sure I'm gonna be jabbering on about how great it is there too (Krispy Kreme shop on the way to the station anyone?!) I'm probably going to do a haul kinda thing tomorrow as I haven't photographed them yet coz I'm bloomin' tired right now!

Hope you all had a great day! Thanks for reading!

Freebie!

A-Taupe the Space Needle and A Colour to Diner For

So a while back I ordered a year long subscription to Glamour Magazine, which came with free OPI nail polishes, but they didn't arrive until I recently called them to complain and they sent me these! Oh I do love a good freebie!! Don't they have strange names though?! The browny colour isn't exactly something I'd go for, but I'm yet to try it out. I'd literally describe it as a mud shade, but perhaps it looks better once actually painted?! As you can see I'm currently wearing the red shade, my camera is a bit poo without any natural light (teaches me to not paint my nails at half eight and expect the photos to come out well), anyway it's a deep red burgundy colour with a glitter and shimmery tint, a kinda common shade in the winter months. Needless to say that despite being a girl, I'm useless at painting my nails. When I was taking these photos I managed to smudge a nail against the camera and then gloop too much onto the nail so it's a lot darker than the rest :( I swear it's much easier being a boy some days....

Hope you're having a great week and thanks for reading!

All that glitters is gold

Blazer and Dress: New Look
Scarf: Miss Selfridge
Shoes: Converse

Howdy all! What do you think of this outfit? Do the converse really go?! I'm slightly wanting to wear a pair of pumps. So I'm off out tonight with Kamila for a catch up over an indian, which I cannot wait to stuff my face in. I've practically starved myself since lunch in preparation. There's not really much to catch you guys up on, working all day has been a killer, especially since I haven't had a break since Reading festival and my cold is getting worse :( Although on a high, Brighton College have confirmed my place there and said that I start on the 9th! Eekk, pretty close now! I think I'm going to London on Friday with a friend to get a few essentials, which will lessen my nerves. It seems strange that in less than a month most of my friends will be leaving and that we won't be spending time at college together everyday. That's another thing to worry about. Making friends, god I'm hopeless. I get shy and nervous when meeting new people and hardly say anything, weird that I can blab a hell of a lot on here (I cut it down SO much before publishing) but can hardly talk to an actual stranger. Any tips or past experiences to help a nervous new student?!

Thanks for reading! Hope you're all having a brilliant day!

The Recovery.....

So from my last post I guess you guys know where I've been for the past few days if not I've been to.... Reading Festival! And I survived!

I haven't got that many photos, even though I promised some, coz they wouldn't have been that good. Plus I didn't want to really worry about taking perfect photos of each act, I'd rather enjoy them! My friends did take a few photos so I'll add them in at the end :)

So it began with a mini sleepover at my friend's Charlotte, as she had a free house and we were leaving for the train at 5 am so it worked out quite well. I'd say this is when my sleep disappeared. After a few Wii games, I popped off to bed for about 4 hours sleep. Not good, when I'm used to 8 hours+. The train journey went pretty smoothly, it's the walk through the actual festival grounds which is a killer. Carrying what felt like a baby elephant for about an hour and a half, we eventually found a camping spot with a few other friends and set up our tents in a little circle. A trip to the local supermarket to get food and drinks, of course all non-alcoholic.....! A pretty relaxed day and evening with a wander around the camps and then a BBQ. This was when I discovered the toilets. Anyone who knows about festivals, will know about the toilets. I can't remember what they're called, drop toilets or something! It's basically a toilet seat with a hole going into a massive container thing with everyone else's businesses. Wasn't too bad on the first day but by the last you couldn't go in without gagging. Plus there wasn't any loo roll or hand basins, nice. But there were showers, although I didn't use them because I didn't have a swimsuit with me :( but now I know for next year!

The rest of the weekend was pretty much the same: bacon roll for brekkie, get ready, go to the arena to see the first acts, a general mooch around the arena, back to camp for food and a quick drink with everyone, then back for the last acts of the night and finally bed at around 2ish.

So on the Friday I saw: Skindred, New Found Glory, Frank Turner, Green Day, Bastille
Saturday: Eminem, Chase & Status, Foals, Darwin Deez, Theme Park,
Sunday: Biffy Clyro, Fall Out Boy, The Lumineers, Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, Tribes, San Cisco

I think I've missed out on a few that we saw a little bit of their set but either way we saw a lot! I'd definitely day New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, Biffy Clyro, Bastille and the brilliant and most amazing Eminem were my top five!

Since we got back yesterday, I've slept, washed, eaten a cow and a half and washed all my stuff and worked all day today. I've brought back blisters, bruises, bites and a bloody cold too, but it was so worth it! If you ever get the chance to do something like this I'd go for it! Get your friends together, a decent sleeping bag and a ton of energy and you're set.

I'll stop blabbering now. Business will resume as normal tomorrow

Reading Festival

So I'm sure you can tell what this post is about from the title...... yes I am going to Reading Festival tomorrow!!! Yay! As I packed the other day I thought I'd take a few pictures of my outfits etc, as I'm not going to be able to post anything whilst I'm away, but I'll definitely get a ton of photos to show you all! Plus I was searching on the old Internet on what people packed for festivals and thought I'd do my own. Right lets get on with it....

Yup, my bag all packed. I thought I'd be able to fit my sleeping bag in there too but boy was I wrong!
My outfit for the ridiculously early train on Thursday morning, about five I think! I'm trying to prepare for all kinds of weather, but I'm layering stuff so it'll be easy to take off etc.

A cute little playsuit. Not really sure what day I'll wear this, guess its whatever mood I'm in! Can easily be worn with or without leggings and the obligatory wellies.

This is my 'hot weather' outfit, high waisted shorts, printed top and checked shirt. What's the betting that I'll get sun burnt at least somewhere on my body over the weekend.....

My much loved t-shirt dress, worn with leggings or the above shorts, as it's quite short just by its self! I think that some kind of band or slogan t-shirt is the bog standard festival outfit for anyone.

Possibly my going home clothes as they're comfy but not that exciting! I LOVE these style of t-shirts, so cool. Also it's my spare 'ah it's too cold, typical British weather' top.

A few of my toiletries, a small towel, loo roll, face wipes, suncream etc. I'm one of those people who fills little bottles from the bigger bottles when I want to travel light, thrifty traveller! Also I've obviously got my pink patterned mac and my little piggy wind up torch, it would be so embarrassing to end up in the wrong tent.....

Overall, what I'm packing:
1 pair of Denim Shorts
1 pair of black skinny jeans
1 playsuit
1 shirt
1 cardigan
1 scarf
1 jumper
1 denim jacket
1 Mac
1 pair of wellies
2 trainers/ Converse
4 T-shirts
PJs

My toiletries are:
Deodorant
Baby wipes x 2
Suncream
Face Moisturiser
Dry Shampoo
Hair bands, grips etc
Make up
First Aid stuff
Toothbrush and tooth paste
Mirror
Shower Gel
Hand Sanitiser

I think that's everything....Basically the lightest I've ever packed! Everything is really mini and all my clothes are rolled up to make more room. Plus I've got a few snacks in there in case I get the munchies!

Hope this post was helpful! See you in a couple of days!

Baby Lips

Maybelline Baby Lips: £2.99

For some reason the first picture just won't turn around....! Yes, the famous Baby Lips. I've been using them for a few weeks now, so hopefully I'll be able to give you a proper review on them. I picked up the Intense Care and Mint Fresh and my friend picked me up the Hydrate one as well (but I haven't used it yet), as she knew how much I wanted one! Right, I'm a bit of a sucker for lip balms, rather than lipsticks or lip glosses, I only just ventured over to lip crayon things recently. I do like a bit of shimmer when I put lip balm on, which the Intense Care gives plus it lasts a long time, although not the eight hours they claim to but I do rub my lips quite a bit so it does rub off quickly! Even so I mostly use this one at night and it gives me softy soft lips the next morning. The Mint Fresh one is just lovely, in comparison to other fruity lip balms I have, I'd much rather a fresher smell like mint. A pretty bog standard lip balm really, again not the eight hour moisturising it claims but still does the job. It's perfect for when you just want a little bit but not so much that it looks greasy and just, well, nasty. The cases are sturdy too and they don't slip off or anything like that. Most reviews give it a five out of five, which I would too to be honest, for the price you're getting a really good deal!

As I said I'm a bit of a lip balm freak, I thought I'd show you some of my collection (can't seem to find half of it....)

Boots Soltan SPF, really old Boots own, Balance Me Raspberry tinted and Rose Otto and finally Carmex!

These ones are usually at the bottom of my bag, coz you can never be too sure if you've got enough lip balm!

Hope you guys are having a good week!

:(

Jacket and Shoes: New Look
Dress: Forever 21

Today was not a good day. Waking up feeling like a piece of poo, didn't help :( I don't know whether working every day, either at my actual job or work experience, since the 1st August doing full day shifts has probably caught up me. I only had one article to actually do today, but each time I sent it to my editor is wasn't good enough. I mean, I know why he wants it to be good etc but I don't feel that I'm that experienced to be able to do one of the main stories all by myself, plus all the stuff I've written, they've changed anyway! Either way he kept pushing me to get more, even though I had already called the guy four times that day and got all that I could have out of him. After I ignored his final email, thinking that its the best I can do so like it or lump it, I got another article to do with a super sweet girl who was doing some charity work so it was nice to talk to someone friendly!

By the time it got to finishing time, I was building the courage to go over and face my editor and ask him to go (so scary with all the men there, judging you and the bitchy girls of the office looking you up and down!) I manage to get my foot caught in the chair and it fell over, with pretty much most of the guys laughing. It's actually really weird to find an office like that so quiet! All you can here is keyboards tapping away. Anyway by that point my eyes were filling with tears and I literally just wanted to run out there, which I think he let me after seeing my face and probably my work! Not wanting to cry in public, I practically ran to my car with my sunglasses on and had a good cry in my car. Coz sometimes you need it! God knows how I managed to get home! Ah well, guess that's just how it goes!

EXCITED

Jacket: Primark
Top: Topshop
Jeans: M&S
Shoes: Next
Earrings and Bracelets: Accessorize plus holiday bracelet

Hey guys! I've momentarily ditched my weekly Raving Reports, out of laziness and the fact that you've probably seen it all anyway! It's been another busy day (when isn't it at the moment?!) Work this morning, then a quick tidy of my room and then off to my gorgeous sister's house warming party/ her boyfriends birthday. This is what I wore, not that exciting, I think my jewellery makes it look a bit better, I hope! I almost forgot I had this top, it's a pretty good food baby hider, especially as it was a BBQ and there was tons of birthday cake as we were celebrating three different birthdays. Plus the mothers famous Banoffe Pie and my cheesecake, which all went pretty quick. I got to catch up with my brother who I haven't seen or spoken to  in a few weeks, which is out of the ordinary for us and a few other family members which is always nice.

This week is gonna be another busy one. I'm finishing my work experience this week, which I'm actually quite sad about! Despite my bad beginning, the guys there are super nice and welcoming and I've definitely got the whole experience about working on a paper. But I can't exactly stay and missing Reading festival now can I?! I'm off really early on Thursday morning to get a good spot to put our tents up and then it's just a music filled weekend. Excited doesn't even cover what I'm feeling right now!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Yay for the Rain!

Jumper: Primark
Jacket: Topshop
Jeans: Asos
Trainers: Converse
Bag: H&M

Howdy all! So glad that I can finally start to wear jackets and trainers again, been missing my converse! Plus with doing work experience etc, I haven't worn any casual stuff in a while. I literally just chucked this on after an impromptu shopping trip with my mother, I only had about five minutes to get ready and this old jumper looked like a good option as I saw the rain pouring down outside! I couldn't be bothered to tie my shoe laces for this photo so just use your imagination for that part! I only bought a baseball style t-shirt, you know the ones with the different coloured sleeves, a Look magazine and a blueberry muffin. Just the usual then.

Work was the usual crazy busy, which meant I was running around like a loon for most of it. I finally finished watching that One Direction programme about the crazy fans, they are so cray cray. I mean I do like the band, their songs are alright and they story on X Factor is pretty good, but I'm not gonna die if I don't see them or chase them around their hotel just to find them for a picture! It just seems a bit much really, the only thing I envy One Direction for is the places that they've travelled, if I had that much attention I don't think I'd be able to cope! haha

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Cyclists make me Grrrr....

Blazer: Primark
Cardigan and Jeans: M&S
Top: Wet Seal (Shop in US)
Shoes: New Look

Howdy all! After yesterday's pretty happy day, the heavens opened to give me another mundane and boring day at work :( I love the rain, but today it was just annoying, I had to leave extra early coz the traffic is always worse when it rains coz no one walks/cycles, although I went past about 5 this morning, but they were the really pissy and ignorant road cyclists who think it's okay to cycle in the middle, well it's not! Haha rant over. It was pretty quiet at work, one was off ill, another on holiday and two were working from home, so about half of the guys were actually in but it meant that I constantly had lots to do which was good, as it stopped me from daydreaming too much! I did start a 'Reading Festival' list, with the clothes and beauty bits and bobs I should take, so far it's got wellies and baby wipes on it, anyone else fancy helping?!

After I got home and cooked a massive Indian curry with all the trimmings with the mother, I slobbed out watching youtube videos and just generally searching the Internet. I was gonna watch that One Direction fan thing last night but forgot about it, but it's on again tonight, so def gonna catch up on all the fan girling!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Results!!

Jumper and Scarf: Primark
Jeans: Next
Shoes: New Look

Soooo.... it's results day today! I did a little post earlier, which was actually an article for the paper that I'm doing work experience with! Argghhh it was pretty exciting actually! I'll add the link at the bottom :) So basically I went in and got my results (you can probably read from the last post what I actually did etc) then met one of the reporters from the paper interviewing a few people from my school. After that I went back up to the town to get the vox pops that I didn't get yesterday, but luckily it was a lot easier today and people were actually willing to talk to me! Managed to get eight people in the end, even though they only asked for six, guess I was making it up for yesterday! Then a quick pit stop at my friends house to catch up quickly with her and finally off to the office. It's a bit of a pain being so far out, but I guess it's all just driving experience in the end! They let me go early, after I typed up the vox pops and my little diary blog thing, which was sweet of them! Mother is on the way home with fish and chips, then I'm possibly going out for a drink with a few people to celebrate our results and everything!

Hope you're all having a good week and hope it went well for those who got their results!

Diary of an average A-Level Student

It probably kicks in about a week before results day that your future has been decided already, that your top university knows whether you’re in or not. You start panicking about what’ll happen if you don’t get in or you have to go to your second choice university. Needless to say, being a student has its ups and downs. My exams felt like a millennia ago, pushed to the far back of my mind with memories of writing something different to your friends or doing the wrong question. I pretty much have no memory of what happened that week, with the point of never remembering either. The night before begins with my nerves starting to get to me, “What if there are no car parking spaces? What happens if the school burns down? What will happen if there’s a massive world apocalypse?” Waiting for something that big is a pain, seeing that it’s 2am on my clock makes sleep an even bigger stranger to me. Waking up to realise that today is the day where it could go horribly wrong or brilliantly good, didn’t help when inhaling my breakfast. Of course I’m one of the first students in the car park (obviously didn’t need to worry about that…) which puts me at slight ease, especially after seeing numerous ‘good luck’ messages from friends and family. The only thing that could go wrong now is tripping over and breaking my nose or falling down a drain, both are fairly likely. As I approach the school, the unnatural smiles from the teachers as they line up to give you your results doesn’t exactly help either. The next problem is actually opening the envelope, easy for a normal human being but a monstrous task with your future printed in capital letters, telling you whether you’ve made it. ENGLISH LITERATURE B, MEDIA STUDIES B and HISTORY C. I’d actually done it, I had got into my top university to do Multimedia Journalism. With the email from Bournemouth University and UCAS actually confirming my place, it began to sink in. Within a month I’d be out of this place and along a sunny beach with journalism students like me. An ecstatic call from my parents, sister and brother later, I could actually celebrate my results, with the most expensive sandwich in Sainsburys (I’m still a student you know…) In the end, exam results aren’t actually the be all and end all of in the grand scheme of things, you’ve just got to take opportunities life throws you and hope you’ll get to where you want to be in the end.

Hey there Sailor!

Jacket: Primark
Cardigan: H&M
Dress and Shoes: New Look
Scarf: Charity Shop

Ahoy there! Another super busy day at my work experience office. First off I got there slightly late, although they don't really have a specific time they need me there, I just couldn't find a car park space anywhere! Found one in the end but I basically parked half on a field up a massive steep hill, not ideal! After about an hour and a half of work one of the reporters came over to say that we're going into a town to do a few more vox pops (Questions you ask the public) for next weeks edition. I had to get ten in the town, then three a bit further out town where the council were planning to do some roadworks. I got zilch in town, either people were going somewhere in a hurry or they weren't from the town, pretty annoying. So after about an hour of walking up and down the town, we prioritised the three further out town coz they were quite quick and easy to do. But they weren't easy at all! I don't know why people clam up and don't want to say anything when they hear where I'm from. I know most people don't like journalists, but I'm not gonna steal your purse or anything! I just want to talk to you! Haha, it gets pretty frustrating after a while, plus I guess it got my confidence down actually talking to people. I managed to get three vox pops but only two photos so I have to go back tomorrow and get a picture from the third or do a totally different one, Grr. So I guess you might get the feeling that I'm feeling pretty rubbish at the mo! I hope that the guys at the office don't get annoyed or anything.

On a another rubbish note, it's my A-levels results day tomorrow! I haven't really thought that much about it really, been to busy to. But I think that whatever happens just happens in the end!

Hope you're having a brilliant week!
