Exams

So, you may have noticed (or not!) a slight absence of posts this week. It's less than two weeks until my first A2 exam, so I've been revising like crazy this week and haven't even had chance to think about blogging, also my outfits have consisted of hoodies, leggings and tracksuits! After the 6th June, I'm officially finished with all my exams and sixth form, so I'll definitely get back to blogging after that, plus I've got tons of new ideas I really want to get going with, so bear with me while I take a little holiday and I hope to see you all when I'm back!

Rhiannon's Raving Report #17

Image from BBC Sport

Ohhh don't cry David! After 22 years of playing football the famous David Beckham has decided to retire at 38 years old. He said that he's taking a few months time out to spend time with his family. I remember watching the England and UK matches with David Beckham when I was younger with my brother and dad, oh the memories! Obviously no one is going to forget him in a long long time!

Image from Daily Mail

This year marks 100 years of the Chelsea Flower Show, from a family-run firm,  to now including many other exhibitors in the historic event. Tomorrow begins the week long show, with the Queen getting a sneak peek before the opening at the expected greatest flower show ever, the perks ay?!

Whilst tucking into my cheesey pizza, I was amazed by Stevie Pink's act on Britian's Got Talent. I can't quite describe it so I'll let the video do the talking! (Also ignore whatever David Walliams is saying!)

Image from The Mirror

I didn't watch this years Eurovision, never had and never will! I really don't understand why people would want to see the UK lose every time! From news articles it seems that Bonnie Tyler gave it her best shot and at 61 years old and came in at 19th. Better than last year, that's all I'll say!

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Scarecrow

Cardigan: H&M
Top: Topshop
Jeans: Asos
Shoes: New Look

What a Friday! Didn't get off to the best of starts. Two of our chickens got killed by a fox soon after my mum let them out into the garden and a third one was missing for the day, after I found her hiding behind the house with a few less feathers than what she used to have but still in one piece! Then the mission to fox proof the chicken run, with added scarecrow commenced into the evening!

As I've mentioned in previous posts this week was my last official week at sixth form, after seven long years there it was slightly sad to be leaving. In the final assembly photos of us from year 7 up until now were shown, much to all of our embarrassment! Afterwards a spot of Nandos with my lovely girlies rounded off the celebrations quite nicely. I took my parents to the station today as they're off on holiday for the week, already regretting it as my laptop broke down :( so I've got to use my mums teenie tinie one for now! Although there's no fight over the bathroom or TV remote and I can eat takeaways and pizza all week, without feeling guilty, ah the perks!

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Review: Great Expectations

You're probably thinking 'Uhhh, Charles Dickens? Really? How boring!' Since reading it in my GCSE English class, I've kinda been intrigued by the whole story, as I'm a classic chit lit and Harry Potter gal, I fancied something different. I'll start with the basis of the story, the main character Pip lives with his sister and meets an escaped convict, Magwitch, who he gives food to. Years later he receives money from a mysterious benefactor, thus beginning his 'Great Expectations'. After doing a review a while ago (Link here) on the newest film version, I decided to take the book up again. Despite being long-winded and published in the tiniest writing ever, I managed to finish it, definitely worth it for the feel good factor at the end. At the moment I'm reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green after seeing so many people rave about it and after Samantha recommended it and at about 100 pages in I'm totally absorbed by it!
Any good books you would recommend?

Thanks for reading!

Let Her Go

Jacket and Jumper: Primark
Jeans and Shoes: New Look
Scarf: Charity shop

Think I'm subconsciously going through different costume themes each day this week, cowboy yesterday and sailor today! The only downside of this jumper is the short sleeves, meaning you have to wear a jacket with it (May in Britain is no longer hot, warning to all tourists, bring your jumpers!) and obviously you can't wear another jumper over the top, coz that would just look weird, but feel free to prove me wrong! I used to really really hate these shoes as they rubbed my feet like crazy but they've been making a comeback recently as I've finally broken into them properly, pretty perfect shopping shoes now!

Countdown to last week at sixth form involved an annual sixth form BBQ but coz it was so wet and windy outside, we had it in the common room, obviously not actually cooking it in there...! Double helpings of burgers, hot dogs and ice cream has pretty much filled me up for the day! After finding out that my last lesson was cancelled, coz no one turned up, I've spent the afternoon updating my iPod (Can't get enough of Passenger - Let Her Go), catching up on Youtube videos and pretty much avoiding any type of revision that I can. Afternoon well spent I say!

Got my cowboy on

Jacket: Zara
Shirt: Topshop
Top: Primark
Jeans: Asos
Shoes: Converse

I think a cloud passed over the in second picture as it suddenly turned dark, typical British weather!  Plus look at how white my shoes look, they're getting dirtier but look so so bright in this photo! Another day gone by, media mock test done and dusted with, my finger's permanent blister growing bigger by each essay. It's so disgusting, just a little blister on my finger, no pain no gain though! On to nicer things..... er..... only a few more days left of sixth form, yay!! At the moment I can't think pass exams (Bet you're like 'shut up about exams!' right now) then it's straight out working to get some monies for the hol and Reading Festival, really can't wait, especially with this weather right now, what's up with the rain and snow?! It's May for God's sake, sort it out!

Panic!!

Cardigan: Zara
Shirt: New Look
Jeans: Marks and Spencer
Shoes: Next
Necklace: Accessorize

Bonjour all! Plain Jane outfit today.... the shirt colour is quite pretty though, kinda pale dusty purple. Major mistake wearing these shoes today, they have little heels which meant I was clip clopping everywhere, even so they're probably the most comfy shoes I have, so alls well that ends well. Average day, sixth form and revising. Got a big test tomorrow in media studies, basically gotta revise a ton of theorists and an essay before tomorrow, argghh! Since all the GCSE exams began today I've been feeling the pressure that exams are only round the corner now. Phew, just gotta stay calm and not panic. Whenever someone says that you always do the opposite though, don't you?!

Have a lovely week!

Rhiannon's Raving Report #16

Image from BBC News

At the beginning of the week three women were found at a house in Ohio, after vanishing on separate incidents around 10 years ago. Their escape was helped by neighbour after Amanda Berry's(Centre) bid to escape. Police have the three suspects of kidnapping the three women, with astonishing details coming out whilst they're still be investigated. This shows how brave the three women have been and how they had no given up hope of escaping.

Image from The Guardian

Last week I mentioned the factory collapse in Bangladesh death toll passing 600, this week the toll is up to over 1,000 people. But most amazingly one woman, Reshma Begum, (Pictured) has been rescued after being trapped for 17 days, surviving on biscuits and rain water. At this point rescue workers had given up hope of finding anymore survivors. Rescue workers are at the basement area, still searching for people.

Image from Daily Mail

Now, I don't know a lot about football but I do know that Sir Alex Ferguson's resignation meant a big deal to football fans. After 26 years at Manchester United, Sir Alex has decided to concentrate on his wife and family. As he's not getting away from Manchester United that easily, they've made him a director and ambassador for the team. Alls well that ends well.

Image from Daily Mail

I hadn't intended to mention this story this week but after taking time to read it, it's definitely not one to miss, or forget at that! Richard Branson got in touch with his feminine side after losing a Grand Prix bet with AirAsia chief executive Tony Fernandez two years ago and boarded a plane to Malaysia in full AirAsia uniform. At least someone can still laugh at themselves these days!

I like the Kardashians and have nothing against Kanye West either, except some of his songs. Either way this is pretty funny, especially when he goes a bit crazy at one of the photographers, it's not really their fault that you walked into a pole. Should have been looking where you were going, that's all I'll say.

Hope you all have a great week!

The Inbetweeners

Jacket: H&M
Top: Republic
Jeans and Shoes: New Look

Howdy guys! This is the outfit is what I wore yesterday, a bit dressy but you can never be too over dress! This shirt is really old but still so pretty, bit chilly at the moment so I had my granddad cardigan as well. I'm not too sure about my having my hair like this, looks kinda quiff like but it stays out of my eyes and I don't fiddle with it so much, whenever I'm bored I'm always picking at it and loose all concentration, not good when I'm trying to revise for exams!

Another thrilling Saturday, work in the morning then revision. At the moment I'm watching The Inbetweeners movie, definitely not as good as the TV series but good even so, whilst doing a bit of internet shopping! Can anyone recommend any good eye creams, trying to stop my dark eye circles!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

How did that happen?!

Cardigan: H&M
Top: River Island
Jeans: Asos
Shoes: New Look

So, if you may have read in my last post, me and a few friends popped down to Brighton after sixth form to do some late night shopping. How it happened I don't know..... but I managed not to buy a single thing! Unless you count a slice of pizza and burger at TGI Friday's. Hands down best burger and chips I've had in a loooongg while! Recently there seems to be nothing that I really like. At the moment, in my opinion, all there is out there are slogan t-shirts (e.g. GEEK.... no I am not one therefore do not want to purchase a t-shirt for 20 squids with that on it), crop tops and maxi dresses, which makes trying them on depressing with gale force winds outside and never ending rain. Shopping rant over, I did find a cute playsuit in River Island, what do you guys think (Link here)? Shall I buy it?

My bro was over this afternoon, as he's off to New York for work next week (Not too shabby!) I've asked him to pick up a pair of Ray Bans in the duty free for me, as I've been saving a bit to fill my Ray Ban shape hole in my wardrobe! I actually get on with him really well, we have the same sense of humour and likes.... despite him being a boy and 8 years older than me. We used to watch Neighbours, Simpsons and Hollyoaks together after school and college together, did you you guys ever watch them? After a while we kinda grew out of them, especially after Harold left Neighbours, there's no point after he went...

Thanks for reading!

Pretty Lilac

Jacket: Primark
Jumper and Top: H&M
Jeans: Marks and Spencer
Shoes: Converse
Scarf: Miss Selfridge
Necklace: Own Charms

Well that's summer done and dusted! Back to the trainers and scarfs.... I love the colour of this top,  it's a kinda lilac colour and so pretty for when it gets a bit nicer. Average day again, sixth form has been making plans for the last few days, whichs sound actually really good. In some ways I'm sad to be leaving after 7 years but I can't wait to start somewhere else and actually do something that I really want to do! At the moment all its been is revising and more revising so I do apologise if my posts get a bit shorter and further apart. Tomorrow I'm off with a few friends down to Brighton for  a bit of shopping which will be good to relax, so might post my haul then, knowing that I will be buying at least one thing!

Hope you all have a good week!

Dentist

Cardigan: Zara
Top: George at Asda
Jeans: Next
Shoes: Primark
Nails: Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Lychee

Uhhh, what is up with my hair? I had a bad day yesterday which made my hair go a little crazy, not helpful! Usual day at sixth form, stressing out wayy too much now my exams are round the corner, but then again no change there! I had the dentist today, my worst nightmare. I do try to keep my teeth nice and pretty but there's always something wrong with them! I had braces years ago and am suppose to wear the retainers but haven't for a while so of course my teeth have moved, only slightly on the bottom corner but it annoys me so much. I told him but all he said was to wear my retainer and clean my teeth really well coz there's a bit of decay on a tooth which means I might have to get a filling next time I see him. It's my first one so it's pretty good going, I think! Gonna be brushing the teeth well tonight!

Have you got any bad dentist memories?

Mini Mini Haul

Me and my ma popped into town really quickly after sixth form last week to get a few bits and bobs that I was running out of. Here goes:

Take the Heat Protection Spray and Cream from Aussie
Blazer from Primark

Obviously I didn't need the blazer but it was calling me. £11 in the sale, light, floaty and a dusty blue colour, perfect! I wore it the other day and it felt gorgeous, it's kinda like chiffon material so not too heavy. I ran out of heat protection spray and wasn't using anything for a little while, eek! Aussie stuff is my favourite hair product to use, I don't use anything else except Lee Stanford when I want my hair straight and Fish Serum to make it niiiccee and shiny. They smell gorgeous and were on sale in Asda as 3 for £10, not too shabby for Aussie. I also bought some nail polish remover and mint Polos but weren't that interesting to photograph. I told you it was a mini mini haul! I'm obsessed with mint Polos, when I run out it's up the the vending machine to supply my need but this time I'm fully prepared with a pack of 5 from Asda.... prepared for a few weeks anyway!

Hope you're all having a lovely bank holiday!

Rhiannon's Raving Report #15

Image from The Guardian

I used to be a massive fan of Coronation Street but stopped a few years ago after revising for exams and never got back into it. Bill Roache, the worlds longest serving soap actor, was arrested for a rape involving a 15 year old girl in the 1960's. I think it's such a shame that so many well-known and respected people are tumbling down from fame.

Image from BBC News

As of today the death toll has passed 600 after a building in India collapsed last week. Since then nine people have been arrested in connection with the collapse, with factory workers holding protests over improved safety regulations. The architect of the building had originally built it to fit shops and offices rather than factories and that three floors had been illegally added to the original building. It makes you see how lucky how much safety regulations are kept in check over here.

Image from The Mirror

As the April Jones case has been trialled this week, new evidence describing her last moments with her family has come out during the trial. A decision to allow April to go for a '20 minute' bike ride has proven a very bad decision. The trial resumes this Tuesday with more evidence expected to be given.

Image from The Daily Mail

Been a while since I've mentioned Kate Middleton! Recently spotted in this polka dot dress from Topshop on a trip to Warner Bros studios to see Harry Potter World and other exhibits. Her dress sold out on the day these photos came out. A £38 dress is something that everyone can get and with the power of the media, no wonder it sold out so quickly! Plus polka dots are on trend....

Another chuckling video.... 'Why is this happening to me?'

Hope you all have a good week!

Footloose

Jacket: Primark
Hoody: H&M
T-shirt: Souvenir
Jeans: Topshop
Shoes: Converse

Aloha! This is what I wore yesterday, but was too tired to even think about posting. Definitely took my rolled up jeans to the next level, these Leigh jeans are so flexible, also because I got them in petite they're ankle swingers on me :( I love my I Heart NY tee, it's a bit old now but still a favourite of mine, my lovely sister also got me a  I Heart Paris and I bought myself a I Heart London one a few years ago, so I've got a bit of a collection now.

My thrilling Saturday night involves a Chinese takeaway, Britain's Got Talent and Footloose. Who can resist Kevin Bacon after a Marks and Sparks chinese?!! I've also got a face mask on in my pjs and slippers, can I be anymore single?! The answer is definitely not.

Bows

Cardigan: Primark
Dress: H&M
Shoes and Necklace: Topshop

Another week nearly over! I can't believe we're in May already, I'll be leaving sixth form soon! Ahh! So many people have been getting their legs and everything else out since the sun has come out, it's not that warm yet! I wasn't sure about this cardigan but it was either this or my thick grey Zara cardigan. The in between time when it's really cold in the mornings but hot midday are the worst, really can't decide what to wear.

At the moment deciding what to wear is the least of my worries. I've been feeling a bit stressed lately. Exams are creeping up on me and I'm feeling more and more confused in my lessons, not exactly helpful! My driving confidence is down again, crazy drivers make me so nervous and I feel like I can't deal with it all sometimes. Also sorting out all my college stuff, makes me feel scared about what is going to happen in the future. I'm a natural worrier so just I'd just ignore everything I just wrote, I'll probably forget about it tomorrow!

Media Oscars

Cardigan: H&M
Dress and Belt: Primark

So this is what I class as 'formal' dress, well at a school event anyway. In comparison to everyone else I was very under dressed! I decided not to wear heels because 1. I can't walk in them 2. I'll look like a prat but pretty much everyone else there did and wore dresses that they'd wear to prom or something! This dress is so pretty, I haven't worn it that much for some reason, even so it was a great buy from Primark last year!

Unfortunately I didn't win an award :( I was a little upset but you can't win them all! It was so interesting to watch everyone's projects and the ones that won were amazing so I kinda saw why I didn't win. I did love doing this project with my friend Katy, hopefully we're gonna try out a few more bits in the summer with her amazing camera, so I'm really looking forward to that! I think out of all my subjects Media Studies is definitely my favourite, I think it's just the creativity side and being able to relate it to every day life is really fun.

Did you ever have a favourite subject at school?
