Film Review: I Give It A Year

So last night as part of Orange Wednesdays I went with a friend to the cinema, we really wanted to see The Impossible coz we went to go see it a few weeks ago but it was sold out, booo :( and now its not in cinemas! Bad luck or what?! The next option was I Give It A Year and surprisingly it was  better than I expected. It didn't have the best story line and ending but the cast were really good. I can say that I have never laughed so much at the cinema in ages! Probably since The Inbetweeners. It's quite rude and shows a lot of flesh but is still a typical rom-com! I'd definitely go see this one with the girlfriends, but not your mum, some of the scenes are a little awkward if you get my drift...!

Hi-ho Hi-ho it's off to work I go...

Jumper: H&M
Top and Jeans: New Look
Necklace: Topshop
Ring (gold): Accessorize
Ring (Silver): Charity shop
Bag: Miss Selfridge

So this was the outfit that I wore the other night after me and a few of the girls went out for an Indian close by to us. The highlight of the night was definitely a drunk guy asleep on the table next to us, he looked so confused when he work up! haha. Isn't this bag so pretty? It used to be my sisters but she didn't want it anymore, and of course I didn't mind taking it off her hands... I love the straps and where it sits on me, I don't have loads of bags that are that size. My nail polish is a Christmas present from a friend who bought me a mini OPI set with all the best shades. Now beauty bloggers don't judge but I had no idea what OPI was or how amazing their nail polishes were until now! There's about 10 mini polishes all in different shades, so I can't wait to try all them out now!

My lessons today are really weird coz I go in early in the morning then back from 3 for my second and last lesson of the day, so I've popped home to finish off painting my shelves and go through all of these Vogues, God I've got it so hard haven't I?!! haha

Hope you're all having a good week!

Get your nike on!

Jumper: Topshop
Necklace: Accessorize
Jeans: Asos
Trainers: Nike

Another boring outfit.... when the whether ain't any good I'm never feeling it! I love these trainers, recently my trainer love has re-emerge again, yay! Although nothing beats a converse! I've had these for wayyy too long, since 2008ish, got them in a Nike store in New York. Ahh New York....

Right now I'm all alone at home as everyone decided to go out and not tell me :( So after checking Twitter, which Uber Facts recommends that I listen to my favourite song, so out blasts Taylor Swift I Knew You Were Trouble..... goat version. Seriously the funniest thing ever! Hope my neighbours can't hear/see me right now! If you haven't heard it here's the link:

Naughty Boots!

Coat and Jumper: Zara
Top and Scarf: New Look
Jeans: Next
Boots: Primark
Bag: Accessorize

Bbbrrrr it's quite chilly out there! My boots first outing wasn't the best, I downplayed my outfit so they'd stand out a bit, which they did.... I tripped over twice and skidded into some lockers after a stepped on the heel at the wrong angle, I tried to walk it off but I don't think it worked, at least some kids found it funnier than I did!

First day back to sixth form again and I've forgotten how tiring it is. Now that a majority of my coursework is nearly finished teachers have started to go on about exams, which is a bit scary really! Although the stuff that I'm doing is actually really interesting so it's not all bad. I've been doing a bit of sorting out and decorating in prep for moving in my new room, hopefully by the end of the week, so I best get on with that!

Hope you're all having a good week so far,

Rhiannon's Raving Report #5

Now I'm sure everyone has heard about the Oscar Pistorius trial. There's so many different interpretations about what actually happened, but no matter what the outcome is someones life has been lost.

I'm a bit late reviewing this but oh my lord am I in love with Ben Howard even more than before! There's something about his music that gets right through you every time. Also I'm loving the remix of Taylor Swift's song, she is quite a performer!

oooohhh money! I'm gonna try not to bore you with all the details and just give the facts, my AS Economic Level actually comes in handy sometimes... It's come out that the UK has lost it's AAA credit rating for the first time since 1978, as we're in a double-dip recession (basically it's all a bit poo at the mo)

Katie what has happened?!! Getting marriage again and now pregnant again all looks a bit desperate  anyone agree with me? After calling the beautiful Kelly Brook a 'heffer' not many people are your fans at the moment...

A little guilty pleasure of mine... obviously I was very happy that it came back this weekend! I can't actually believe how long it's been on for and that I'm the same age as Little Ant and Dec! My favourite part is when Ant and Dec was messing about with Louis Walsh! (sorry if now one watched it and have no clue what I am talking about!)

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Window Shopping

At my sixth form college for all the leavers we have a kinda prom again, but it's more casual! And as today I've been bored out of my mind and trying to avoid doing my essays I've been doing a bit of window shopping for dresses (Always a fun job and never a chore!)

WARNING: Very very sorry for the poor quality, saving these images from the website has made them come out all blurry :(

Up first is Topshop! Surprisingly I couldn't find anything I really liked on there but this one caught my eye because of the high neck, I just wish my hair would grow a bit quicker as I think it would look lovely with wavy hair.

New Look, always my safe choice for clothes. I quite like the skater dress style, as I have no waist this makes me look like I have one! haha. Plus as it's going to take place around July time, so a summery colour is a must. I'm already thinking about how I'll jazz this up with some jewellery...

Another New Look dress. I've never been one for maxi dresses after trying an unflattering one in H&M once, but I have come round a bit now! It is the most casual out of them all but I think it'll look pretty with some nice jewellery and pretty sandals.

Miss Selfridge have a great collection on at the moment. I've always admired their dresses and spotted this one in their petite section (I don't care if I'm not petite! I love it anyway! haha) Lace is a pretty option for summer dresses and I'm thinking maybe some bright earrings and a necklace to go with it....

Ahh my favourite one from Miss Selfridge! I know I said it's quite casual but I couldn't help adding this one in! So gorgeous, the rubbish photo doesn't do it justice. This is the dress I'd wear if I was going to a masquerade ball but obviously I'm not going to one..... any offers so I can show off this beautiful dress?

New Booties!

So Primark did disappoint me a little in Nottingham, there was a top and dress with  lovely prints but the top had puffy shoulders and the dress had a puffball skirt.... not a good look on me! However after I stumbled across these beauties I decided to change my opinion of Nottingham Primark. They're so gorgeous! I'm still in that boot phase and my black studded pair were getting a little worn so these came at a perfect time. Anyone found some bargains in Primark recently?

As for the Uni visit, I'm not too sure whether I'd like living so far away but the uni is a pretty good one for journalism! Ahh the decisions. Plus they have trams and I cannot count how many times I walked out in front of one, so the threat of being hit by tram must also be taken into account, hmmm.....

Hope you're all having a lovely week!

Robin Hood, Robin Hood running through the forest...

That was a reference to Robin Hood as I am in Nottingham (Close to Sherwood Forest)! This will only be a little post as I have no pictures to show you, my boring jumper and converse outfit isn't worth it. So we caught the train up from St Pancras okay, although there were these annoying kids behind us screaming and banging stuff and their mum was sitting there basically ignoring them, even after someone complained, the joys of kids!! Haha Naa love them really... So far we're just popped out to have a look around at the shops and, of course, the obligatory stop in Primark. Definitely can't wait to go back there tomorrow now... I'll most likely buy something despite my 'spending' ban. After midday tomorrow I've got an interview for Nottingham uni with a written test, so wish me luck!!

Have a nice week everyone!

Baroque Print

Jacket and Dress: Primark
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: New Look

Howdy all! How are we all? Sorry I've dropped off the radar for a little bit.... Been a busy bee this week! So today was one of my friend's 18th birthday, we've know each other for years and years now so we're quite close. We popped out to Prezzo for some lunch and I gave her her presents ( 2 Malteaser Bunnies, Aztec midi dress and photo frame of pictures of us) We also had a look around town at the charity shops for bits for my room, no luck though :(

So the reasons I've been AWOL for a little while is coz I've had a ton of coursework which had to be in before half term, so I spent most of my evenings doing that, what a sad life! plus I've had to do a lot of packing and preparing for when I move into my new room so I've almost completely forgotten about this little blog, sorry! I've got another busy week ahead of me, off to Nottingham Uni tomorrow and Wednesday for an open day, then prepping my room again on Thursday  cinema on Friday then work at the weekend! Probably bored you lot to death with my boring plans for the week, sorry you can get back to checking out other more interesting blogs now! haha

Hope you all have a lovely week,

Love My Famalam

Hello all! Did you have a good valentine's day yesterday? Mine was a bit crazy! Sixth form ended early and I had all my media coursework in (hence the reason for a lack of posts this week, I just couldn't squeeze it all in!) and now it's officially half term! Today I've just been lazing about with a friend watching harry potter and eating popcorn, good start I say!

I got the flowers from my 'cat' apparently, I know it was my sister really! She's been at her new house for a few weeks now, so this is obviously a gesture to show that she's missing me! haha I love having flowers in my room, they're pretty and it makes the room smell good too! My mum bought me a few chocolates and I bought her a pot plant. It's all a bit sad really but I think it's nice getting presents from your loved ones once in a while!!

Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday :)

I promise I didn't mean to spend you, money..

Shirt: New Look

I look so unsure in this photo.... may be it's because my shirt buttons are all done up which I don't normally have. It's so pretty though isn't it?! A girl working at New Look was wearing it and coz I was too scared to ask her myself I got my sister to ask for me! haha I always find stuff like that really embarrassing though. I've been wanting a shirt that's printed but not too in your face, so this one fits the bill. And for 14 squids it was pretty good there too!

I also got  two new lipsticks, I'm not one to wear really bright colours and I only own a few different shades of pink.

Rose Petal/ Sand Castle. Both Natural Collection.

I also took pictures of the lipsticks on my lips but you can't really see the difference, crappy lightning! I thought I'd experiment with these colours before I go and buy a more expensive one!
Anyone recommend a good lipstick brand that's not too expensive?

Hope you guys all had a good weekend!!

P.S Thank you all so much for the comments on my last post, I've never been called pretty before! haha so a mahoosive thank you!!

Checks and New Hair.....ish!

Shirt: Gilly Hicks
Top: Primark
Jeans: M&S

Hello all!  You may have noticed that I have had a slight hair cut but I will get to that later on.... So after Ikea yesterday I cannot wait to get started on my room!! I have no idea what I want really so it might just be a mash up of everything! Pinterest is really giving me some great ideas (Thanks Janine and Josie for helping me!!) On tonight's itinerary it's going to be sort out the crap that has been dumped in my new room and that's harder than it sounds! Plus my sister has left her old vogues behind for me to browse through and make moodboard's out of... the little fashion fairy inside of me is just shouting with excitement!

So it's not a lot of difference! The one of the left is before and the right one is now. I brought my fringe back! Yay, I haven't had it cut in so long that it had grown to my chin! As my hair is quite thick anyway, I've had a load of layers in to thin it out and make it easier to style and stuff!! I'm trying to keep it healthy, as towards the end it was a bit dry and split ends were everywhere, anyone got  a favourite hair product?

Have a good weekend!

Review: Life Of Pi and a little bit of help needed!

I've been meaning to do this post for a while now, since I saw the film last week but just haven't got round to it! I'm sure many of you have seen this film ( sorry if you haven't seen it and want to, spoiler alert!), and perhaps like me you think it is amazing, so I'm just gonna jabber on about it today!

I think the one thing that shocked me the most was how graphic it was, I really didn't expect to see animals get killed! The best part was when they got to the meerkat island, I love those little things. I had an inkling that the tiger was personified as Pi just from the trailers and posters, but had no clue about the other animals as people. Towards the end of the film when Pi reveals that they animals were actually people, it makes you reflect on what you would do in that situation, whether you would have the courage to carry on.

Now I know that the film was based on a novel, I think I'll try to read the book, although I have a massive stack which I really need to get on with! At the moment I'm reading How to Kill a Mocking Bird, so far it's good but not much has happened yet and I keep guessing at what is going to happen and try to resist the urge to flick forward!

Also I've got Pinterest now, after one of the tutors at Bournemouth recommended it but I have NO CLUE how it works, anyone have it and fancy telling me how it works... please, I may have to google it soon! haha

Bournemouth Uni Activity Day

Jacket and Cardigan: Zara
Top: Topshop (Previously Sister's)
Jeans: M&S
Watch: Vintage

Howdy all! So today was my first university visit and activity day down at Bournemouth. It was a little scary as I didn't know what to expect but the people were all so lovely that I had no worries about that! I'll start off from the beginning, we set off from home about 9:30ish and got down there around 11:30 so we had time to kill so we went into the town centre to do a bit of shopping, BIG MISTAKE, primark was just calling me! I only picked up a scarf but as we were rushing a bit I couldn't stop and try anything on, but I've got my eye on a lot of things in there now! Sorry bank account!

Anyway, we managed to find the uni but there were no car park spaces and after being told there were some 'just outside the campus' we came back and found one right next to the building! We were then spilt into three groups and shown around the TV and Radio suits (the equipment was amazing!) then the scary bit came, we were told that we were going to write a bit about something that's interested us in the news recently. Luckily after doing yesterday's Rhiannon's Raving Report gay marriage stood out for me as the only thing I remembered, so I had that to start on. The tutors then came round speaking to us individually, asking lots of questions and allowed us to show them our portfolio's. I have a few bits from my school mag, then this blog and a few other bits and bobs I do, so I could have talked for ages and ages! The tutor was really nice and I hope that I've made an impression! I should hear back from all of my unis at the end of march, so I'll let you guys know then!

Phew! Looking back at this it is a bit of a heavy post, sorry! I'm off to Ikea tomorrow after school looking for new furniture, so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to post but hopefully I'll squeeze in the time! Hope everyone is having a good week :)

Rhiannon's Raving Report #4

So this week, Richard III's skeleton was found in the University of Leister's car park! The DNA from his decedents matched  the skeleton after an excavation began in the car park in August 2012, which was narrowed down to be the only likely area for the bones because of the connection to a church previously there. Apparently his curved back also proves that it is him. Imagine that where you park your car a body could be underneath that's hundreds of years old!

At the weekend the news was dominated with this story. A man wielding a knife against his throat outside Buckingham Palace during the changing of the guards was tasered by police. The knife was 6 inches long and the man was lunging forward brandishing the knife. I think that would've certainly stirred the Queen up a bit!!

This evening the Commons voted in favour of same sex marriage with 400 votes against 175. This issue have apparently caused a split within the Conservatives as it's estimated that out of 175, 140 voted against same sex marriage, another great thing to happen to our country, a split government! In my opinion it is a great thing, I have friends who are gay and I don't see why there should be different rules if it is about people in love, whether they're gay or not it is still the same. Plus, when did the PM get twitter?!!

I'm sure lots of people have heard about Beyonce's and Destiny Childs performances, one world for it AMAZING. I'm not a massive fan but the girl did good! She definitely ignored all the criticisms about her performance for Barack Obama and proved them wrong!

I'll leave you guys with one of my favourite videos on youtube ever, guaranteed to make you laugh!

Enjoy your week!

Ooooh I do love spots!

Shirt: New Look
Jeans: Topshop

Hello all! This was the outfit that I wore to the theatre show Les Mis last Saturday. I couldn't look to my trusty black skinny jeans coz I thought it would look a bit too black with my blazer on top, so Topshop Leigh jeans came to the rescue in raspberry! I can't wait to wear this shirt with my burgundy skater skirt and with bright jackets, as the colours will really bounce off each other. I also chucked my sheepskin coat on top as it was bloomin' freezing on Saturday!

Today was usual sixth form lessons then afterwards I popped over to my sister's new house for dinner and so she could help me sort out my portfolio for a trip down to Bournemouth uni on Wednesday. Her house is lloooveelyyy, makes me want to move out and decorate my own house! I get her room which means more wardrobe space (a dangerous thing!), tons more room with a double bed and a mini sofa! I've already chosen a green colour as a feature wall, as I've gotten bored of pinks and purple through my childhood! What colour is your room? Any websites I should be looking at for furniture and pretty things?

Review: Les Miserables

You may have read in my last post that I went to see Les Mis in theatre in London yesterday. I only have one word for it - AMAZING. At first it wasn't brilliant but then I got hooked and thinking back on it, they whole story was just awesome! I'm not gonna bore you with all the story details, as some of you may have already heard it all, so I'll just leave you with some pictures from it!

My Favourite character is Eponine, the above image is after she's been shot, I just think she's the bravest character out of them all. I can't wait to see the film version and see the difference, apparently all the actors sang the songs live! I'll do another review of that afterwards :)

Hope everyone is doing alright!
